People love to point at this line as a positive sign for the Cubs (books putting Kluber at home at plus money and begging for action, right??!!)
OR, they know they are going to get 60%+ action on the cubs anyway so may as well tack on a little surcharge...
Let's say they have 600 bets on cubs at -140 to win 100 bucks and 400 on the tribe at +120 to win 100 (very hypothetical, i know). They would have $84000 in cubs bets and approx $34,000 in tribe money for a total handle of 118,000. If cubs win they have to pay the 84k back and they keep the 34k for a net loss of 50k. If the Indians win they pay out 40k and pocket 78 grand.
Who do you think the books are rooting for in this scenario? If they expect a Cubs win, wouldn't setting the line like this be foolish?
Books are always a step ahead...How many people thought they were being sharp getting the Bills plus 5.5 points this past weekend?

It's because the books have taken so much future action on the Cubs that they're essentially trying to hedge a little, which is why all the games have been a little inflated towards the Cubs side

Cubs seeing Kluber for the 3rd time in seven games. Kluber going on 3 days rest. Thats asking a lot
From a "pure handicap" standpoint, this is one of the best "betting nuggets" i have ever heard. never thought about how quickly pro batters adjust to a pitcher
awesome point that proved so true
