They got swept in a 3 game series against the Brewers in early August. From August 5th to August 9th...the Reds lost 5 games in a row. From that point they are 21-12. They have lost back to back games on 2 occasions during that stretch but neither have come against the same team. One problem the Reds seem to have had recently is losing Game 1's of series. Of those 12 losses during this stretch, 5 of them have come in Game 1's while they're a whopping 9-1 in Game 2's during this stretch.
Another interesting stat is that the Marlins are only 1-5 following a shutout this season while the Reds are 2-0 following being shutout. Small samples but they are what they are.
Some food for thought if you're looking into this game.
