WRITE-UP: Houston Team Total OVER 5.5
-Jason Hammel has been awful for the Royals this season with a team
win/loss record of 2-9, an ERA of 5.95 and he has been worse in his last 5 with a
6.30 ERA allowing 7 HR’s.
-No secret, Houston is on fire scoring 94 runs in
their last 11 games. I expect them to hang 7 or 8 runs on KC and Hammel
tonight.
-In Hammel’s last two starts opponents have scored
15 runs vs. Kansas City.
-In Hammel’s last 5 starts he has given up 37 hits
and 22 runs, approx. 1 run per inning pitched.
-If anything, the weather will benefit hitters
tonight with the wind blowing out to center at 6 mph.
-Over is 6-1 in Blaser’s last 7 games behind home plate…..a
good trend for runs to be scored.
-In their last 11 games, Houston
has exceeded the 5.5 run total in every game except yesterday scoring 7,
7, 6, 7, 17, 7, 16, 8, 7, 7 and 5 runs yesterday vs. Vargas one of the best
pitchers in MLB this year. Hard to not see them putting up at least 6 on
Hammel tonight.
-In their last 11 games, Kansas City has given up a
total of 65 runs, with two shutouts. In the 9 games that KC allowed runs,
they allowed an average of 7.3 runs. Houston is the highest scoring team
they have faced this year, so that spells a problem for KC.
-Last night Houston scored 5 runs against
Vargas, a veteran lefty this is having the best season of his career with a
record of 7-3 and an ERA of 2.08 and 1.096 WHIP. Hammel is no Vargas.
Houston 1.5 runs will also get some of my money tonight.
In the 22 win that Houston has on
the road this year, they have covered the -1.5 runs 19 times. This also works well for them exceeding the
5.5 runs.
BOL Tonight!!!
Also, made a pretty good wager on Seattle/Minn OVER 9 this morning, although not part of my ONE PLAY PER DAY Post, just because people have asked for other leans.
