There are many others to boot and Mike trout is guaranteed to join this group of unfortunate stars because the Angels management doesn't know anything about baseball. The owner thinks that money will buy him a World Series and sadly he is mistaken. The Angels minor-league system has been neglected, especially in pitching. It's been a nightmare the past 5 years and it's not getting any better. It's always been the Mike trout show. Albert should take a pay cut because he can't stay healthy. But it's a free market and I hope Moreno loses all of his money. The bottom line is Angels fans are going to have to wait another decade to be in the World Series. I hope Angels fans will protest by not going to the games because they deserve much better than this

if they trade Trout right now, a lot of people would be pissed off, but I believe it would be better to do it now than to have him go through years of torture with mediocre players. at least they could get quality pitching to build on

If not winning a World Series is your criteria almost all of last years All Stars should be traded. Some high potential teams should unload their rosters. Just look at the 9 teams that didn't win the WS last year and some well established veterans that have never won a WS. Bad premise, ignorant post, BOL
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

What I am saying is I don't want to see trout, who is one of the greatest players of all time, have a bunch of losers around him because the Angels management is a bunch of losers too. His rookie year was absolutely spectacular, with a WAR of 10! His 2nd year He went down to a 5, which is a huge difference and I believe it was because he gained 15 pounds during the off-season. He was the best all-around player having the speed of a gazelle, the power of a lion, lightning quickness and the finesse I've never seen before. He was the perfect centerfielder. He is still a great player now, but his speed is not as effective as before, because he hits a lot of home runs. Most of them are solo shots, which keeps him off the bases. It's very hard to have a big inning when you have your best player hitting solo shots in the rest of the team can't hit. It's damn near heartbreaking to see a great player with a great personality/disposition languish on a team of mediocre players.
The Angels need to either trade Trout or have the owner sell the team because with Artie Moreno throwing all his money at a problem is making a bad situation even worse. This guy buys high-priced talent to put butts in the seats, and even lowers beer prices. I would rather pay $15 for a beer and watch the Angels win a World Series. I have followed this team for nearly half a century, only to watch management ruin this team. I wish they had the mentality of the Royals management because they have built that organization from the ground up and not try to buy a championship. The Angels had that in 2002 and then threw it all away after Gene Autry died.

Apparently, you guys don't follow the Angels because you have no idea what you're talking about. The Angels had a great 1st baseman in Trumbo, who was the Angels rookie of the year. This was a huge deal because their previous 1st baseman had gotten hurt and wasn't 100%. Now, 1st baseman are easier to obtain because they don't have to be great fielders. They just have to hit and hit for power. Everybody knows this and it isn't rocket science. If you get a great hitting 1st baseman that can field, that's great, but it isn't needed. The Angels had morales and Trumbo and look what they did. They spent $240 million on pool holes, like he was going to win 3 more MVPs. The guy is old and you cannot expect him to produce like he did at a younger age in his prime. If you believe that, then I suggest you stop doing drugs or pull your head out of your asss!!! The Angels had 3 1st baseman THREE!!! How many do you need in order to win? How much money does it take? 240 million, 500 million, $1 billion???
It was disgusting to watch the Angels humiliate Trumbo by making him play 3rd base. I was at the game when he threw the ball into the stands, but of course, you guys don't see that because you don't follow the Angels. Trumbo is not a 3rd baseman and he never was. This was a management decision and one I will never forgive the Angels for doing because it destroyed Trumbo. How can you take a true 1st baseman, who was a budding star, and make a fool out of him in front of 40,000 fans??? Then say, fukk you Trumbo were get rid of your asss because it's not good enough to be rookie of the year in the Angels organization.

As an Angles fan I never understood why they did that to trumbo and then to blow so much money on pooholes and whisky Hamilton is crazy. but one thing i have noticed with the poo at least he still plays with the pain and tries to hit the ball.
Now the farm system is garbage nothing to get excited about unless they spend big like the yankees do I dont see much changing until the fix the farm system

I would consider trading Trout if I could get a huge package of prospects in return and would have to be overwhelmed. I'm talking about a Hershel Walker type trade that's going to rebuild your system.
They made some mistakes several years ago with Pujols, Hamilton and CJ Wilson but since then I haven't seen them throwing money around as much as you say unless I'm missing something. From what I hear they're trying to get under the luxury tax. They could have signed Cespedes, Upton, Price, Greinke, etc this season but didn't. They have a new GM, Billy Eppler, so I'd give him a little time.
