Well the Cards add two runs in the top of the 9th inning to make it a 5 run f*cking game. Seth Maness comes out in the bottom of the 9th inning and quickly gives up 3 F*cking runs, That just cost me 2,000 dollars (between what I bet and what I should have won)
Absolutely unbelievable. I'm so irate I'm shaking with rage
I think the worst thing that happened was the Cardinals getting those 2 runs in the Ninth. They were up by 3 and Cron dropped a perfectly thrown routine ball that was 3rd out and Cards scored 2 after that error. That changed the whole complexion of the game and how the Cards pitched the Ninth.
Now it's no longer a Save situation, so instead of Matheny immediately bringing in Rosenthal, he chooses Maness with a "comfortable" 5 run lead. Meanwhile, the Angels whole demeanor changes too as Cron is rallying them to get him to the plate to make up for his "Little League" error. Soto, Calhoun, almost Trout, then Pujols all throttled Maness before Matheny finally decides to bring in his Closer, Rosenthal, but the damage is already done.
Who knows, but had the Cards not got those 2 runs in the top, then Rosenthal immediately comes in for the Save situation and more than likely the barrage of hits, hard hit balls and 3 runs doesn't happen and game ends 10-7 Cards. You never will no, but as I stated to start with, those 2 runs probably hurt, rather than helped the Cards in the overall scheme simply due to how they got them.
I had a similar situation tonight that cost me big time. I had a 6 team Parlay for $100 to win $2833 and won the first 5 and had over 6.5 game total on Giants/ D-Backs (bought the run) to close it out. D-Backs down 4-2 in bottom of Ninth when Gosselin doubles with 1 out, then Segura singles and as Gosselin is coming around 3rd, Williams is waving him home and on his own, Gosselin decides to stop at third with the announcers saying he scores standing up. OK, not the end of the world as 1 out and Drury and Goldschmidt next 2, either a deep ball or a base hit is going to score him, but NOOOO. Drury K's, then Goldy walks to load them up for Lamb, who hits a weak single to end the game and kill my $2833
Sorry about your loss Bigdave
, but I'm still up replaying what should've, could've would've. Guess that's why it's called gambling, and the best thing about it??????..........We get to do it all over again today
Good Luck to everyone and let's here some stories tonight about the "Big One that didn't get away"
