He says that the face of baseball shouldn't be someone who needs an interpreter.
I mean, there are amazing Hispanic talent in the game and English is their second language. Do they not matter? I'm just seeing what you guys think. I love Shohei, the dude is on fire. I'm glad Maddon took over the team. Mike S wasnt utilizing him properly. Get a friendly discussion going.

my take on what stephen a said is stephen shouldn't be commenting on shit he doesn't know about. that guy will say anything to get more views, much like his ufc commentary
No team is as good as it looks when winning nor are they as bad as they look when losing

That's not what he said though...as usual people are just waking up to be offended about everything. You could make the case that his comments were insensitive but that's about it.
It's obvious what he meant, it's harder to market the game to the American/Canadian public if the stars can't communicate to the public.
He is right in some sense, for example look at hockey with the Blackhawks in the last decade, even before Kane & Toews won cups....they used marketing to bring a lot of fans back (the videos are on youtube) and it worked to perfection.
He is wrong in that he is miscalculating the power of sheer talent, guys like Vlad/Acuna/Ohtani will bring butts to the seats.

I get it. I understand what he meant. But now it's almost as if he is almost taking it back. He could've word it differently. It's just that I dont think I've ever seen someone say about anyone else in another sport, "hey, he should speak english better if he wants to be marketable. "
Just my opinion. That's all

Yeah I agree he could have worded it a better, that's why it was insensitive but that also kind of comes with the territory of Stephen's personality, being loud and obnoxious lol

Smith's unhinged rant about Ohtani is unsupported by facts, and plainly xenophobic. And if you're familiar with Smith at all, it probably won't it surprise you that he was essentially on the other side of this argument on July 6, less than a week ago. He loudly complained that MLB "has a damn modern day Babe Ruth on their hands and what are they doing about it?"
Clearly, a d*ck

Stephen A Smith is a beligerent, annoying piece of shit who is continuously wrong in his predictions yet continues to act like his predictions mean anything.

When all the sh1tty players from MERICA who don't make it here go to other countries, don't learn their language and also require an interpreter, what then?
European, Chinese basketball
S.Korean, Japanese baseball
Stephen Smith is a double standard s.o.b. and of course, when he says it, its not racist..
"Schrödinger's bet." A bet that loses when you bet it but wins when you DON'T bet it...
