Why couldn’t MLB ever forgive Pete rose?

It’s a sad ending honestly and r.i.p. Pete rose.

but it’s pretty sh1tty IMO how an all-time great like Pete rose was never forgiven after he gave so much to the sport. It’s not like he was some bum that was barely making the major leagues. 

At some point during the last decade MLB could of put their grudge aside and welcome Pete rose back into baseball and inducted him to the hall of fame. But that’s MLB to you always using their product to sell more tickets and viewership. Same thing with the juicing era.. turned a left cheek until the rat started squeaking and wrote books about it. But if Pete rose couldn’t get in I don’t want a sorry or feel bad hall of fame induction for Peter rose. They just need to keep that same approach with those players that juiced and got caught even tho that was one of baseballs golden eras.

They didn't induct him while alive out of spite. Chances are he'll be enshrined in Cooperstown within 2 years.

And now Kiosks in many arenas throughout the country for gambling on games. The hypocrisy is palpable.

 Completely agree with ya fam…. F those that run the HOF etc bc Pete did so much for baseball, he also betted on himself witch is way diff then betting the other side and throwing the game…  So many corrupt players that done worst and they can’t forgive him.. diff sad

It has to be one of the all-time biggest lies ever. there was a joke that their fifth starting pitcher was horrible and he really kept betting on him? Pete Rose is a piece of shit and he does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, I cannot believe a bunch of gamblers think a fucking gambler who gambled on games he played in should be in the Hall of Fame. What is wrong with you people?

 Just throwing it out there Derek Jeter,  Johnny Bench, Reggie Jackson  all 3 hof guys said it was hard to find a player that didn't gamble on baseball using family members mostly. So if you think thousands of mlb players have not gambled on baseball you might wanna look buy yourself a couple more of those bridges. 

Sure, Pete Rose has the stats to be inducted…but he was a belligerent asshole who bet on his own team…who tipped other betters if he did or did not bet on his Reds…He did not deserve induction in his lifetime and it would have been better if he simply accepted that fate, which he eventually did…Within 10 years, he will be inducted into Cooperstown, with a enshrined event to include the good and the bad…Bonds and Clemens will eventually make it as well, because they had the stats to make it before the juice, again with the caveat…I don’t know if it will be in their lifetimes, but eventually they will make it…There is an element of character that is important.  Rose, Bonds  and Clemens knew right from wrong, but they chose, wrong and got caught, and they should suffer the consequences….perhaps at least in their lifetime…

I ran into Pete on more than one occasion in Vegas. He was always approachable (if done right) and a real gentleman. He deserved the Hall. That was my first thought when I heard of his death yesterday and I was heartbroken for him.
