Well..................let's review

Maybe it's just me, but I think the Yanks have quite a bit of question marks.

I have no doubt Jeter comes back. But he's 38. Do you think he's gonna hit .316 again? I don't. And range at ss does not improve at this age.....

Ichiro hit .261 until he became a Yankee. .283 for the year. He's 39, no longer has the range to play center. Do you think he's going to hit .283 for the year? I don't.....

Speaking of Center field, let's double down on this one! Curtis Granderson is busted up, so your leading home run hitter will be gone for at least a month, not even counting rehab time. He's missing ALL of spring training. The guy replacing him, Brett Gardner, had 31 at-bats last year. 31 at-bats. He has no arm, and will now take over in center after missing almost all of last year. Do you want to count on him? I don't....

Robinson is SOLID. But, does his contract affect him? Maybe, maybe not...

Tex hit .251..........ARod out til......when? Anything left in the tank?

And now, how about all the home runs the Yanks will be missing.

Swisher-24 homers

Ibanez-19 homers (part time)

A. Jones 14 homers (part time)

Russell Martin 21 homers at catcher-that won't get replaced

And again, Granderson's 43 wont be there for a while......

I know the Yanks hit a lot of homers (245) BUT THEY GAVE UP 190!

That's just the hitting. I don't have time for the pitching staff. Betting against Mariano Rivera is crazy. But, at age 43, will age finally catch up to him?

I'm a broken record at this point because I find myself saying this in every thread about the Yankees but here I go again...

Every year everyone says the Yankees are overrated because they're aging and have so many holes etc. And every season they end up going over their projected win total.

Do they look good on paper? No. 

Do they have a ton of question marks? Yup.

Do they always find a way? Yes.

I get it. "Don't live in the past". But until age starts to make this team put up more losses...the under doesn't seem as good a bet as it does on paper. While the under seems like the better lean...it would have to be good odds because it's not really worth a wager on it, imo. Astros under whatever is probably the right bet. 

Also be on the lookout for ragingstorm to make his season long bet because he hasn't lost since he's been posting them (5+ straight). He breaks down 1 team and takes an over or an under.

just as i suspected. The yankees are getting nervous about their season. so the suits conjure up a presser just to announce its Mo's last year. Thats what you do when your brand is about to fall off the deep end & you gotta sell season tickets to a turd. The foul stench of the arod is overtaking the whole organization. it started when yuke declared on day 1 he is a red sox for life. then tex goes. grandy goes. hughes goes. cashman goes. panic is setting in down in tampa. hopefully the starters stay healthy all season long. thats the last chance they have to salvage this season.

wow. now derrick lee won't even consider a fat offer from the yankee suits. would rather stay retired then get involved in this stink. 

people are jumping ship that never got on the ship in the first place.

yes. the minimum wage for an MLB ball player is $480,000 per year. it is easily found with any google search for MLB salaries.

point being. he'd rather stay retired then make 500k sitting on the pine watching a ship sink.

For a guy who has made $91 million in his career...how do you consider $480,000 to be a "fat offer"? To you and I...that is a fat offer. To someone who is coming off a season where they received $7.25 million...that's definitely not appealing unless he's playing for another contract in the future.

AL East will be a dog fight. All teams will have their moments, but be careful outside the division. Don't mistake balance for power, as this is now the second best division in the A.L. I'm not ready to make a call yet, but that number looks about right. BOL

yes you are right. my comment of fat offer was hyperbole anyway. the important thing is...nobody wants to play with arod. the yanks are flailing for life savers but nobodys biting. & the yankee fans i know been laying low so far this season. 1 guy i know stopped wearing his cap.

I can't really say they're "flailing". They've been linked to 3 retired players. The old Yankees would have probably signed Lohse by now just to make something happen. The Yankees start off slow every season. They always heat up when the weather heats up. Whether they do that this time around or not will be determined.

I'm with Key. Obviously the East will be a dog fight. Everyone will knock each other off. Nobody "should" run away with this. The Yanks have potentially good pitching. Health is more of an issue with the rotation than effectiveness is (at least that goes for Sabathia, Kuroda and Pettitte).

Yea...I'm a Yankee fan. And call it bias if you'd like but they've shown everyone that they should never be counted out regardless of how "overrated" they are. They just got to stay afloat for the first month and a half.

oh boy. shut out in 2 different games. not a single run in 18 innings? Its not even the regular season, & whenthere are no home runs, there are no runs. If they are hiding their new small ball offense, they sure are doing a great job.

even if the yankee starters can hold teams to 3 runs,. it will be too much for this new wave yankee offense.

I feel like that is completely irrelevant seeing that one game was played with the B-Squad and, of course, this was only 1 day worth of results. 

Come on, man. This is SPRING TRAINING. Where the Royals and and Rockies lead their leagues and the bottom 3 teams for each are the Jays, Yankees and Angels in the AL and the DBacks, Dodgers and Reds in the NL.

i think spring training is important this season. now that the yanks drug kingpin ARod is out of commission, several yankee bats & pitchers will not be on their normal preseason cycle. is it really a coincidence that tex & hughes are hurting without their drugs this season? this bodes badly for karma, & early signs in spring training are not promising.

EVERY YR..YANKEE OVER IS MY BIGGEST BET..I'VE WON 7 OF THE LAST 8 YRS..

 

That said given the age of the starting  rotation and the loss of almost 100 home runs. .I' m passing...Cano will be pitched around, it will be up to oft injured Hefner and Brendan Boesch  to see if they can pick up the slack..Josh you're obviously a jealous Yankee hater of which there are many.as for Lee he's too proud to accept "chump change"

Why do you continue to make outrageous comments? First you call the league minimum a "fat offer". Then you say that 0 runs scored in a SS game is a big deal (failing to mention that they had just scored 5+ runs in their last 3 games). And now you're saying Tex and Hughes are on drugs without anything linking them to any kind of PED use.

i dont see whats outrageous. the yanks are OK with steroids & at best, turn their backs to their players using. it is safer to assume most yankees use drugs then don't use them. 

dont rely on manipulated media. use your eyes. maybe if hughes & tex werent so hot & cold, so dependent on their power for their skill, maybe i could assume the best, instead of the worst. 

we all know juicing still happens & arods latest dish is just the truth shining through. A lot of the yanks power jumped ship. maybe they knew the jig was up. & if the yanks all juiced last season but can't now...maybe the yanks get, 70 wins?

the hangover from a team coming off the juice is, well, the 2013 yankees offense.

"Manipulated media"? That's the media that hopes for the smallest of reports just to say everyone on the Yankees 40-man roster and every hall of famer they've ever had took PEDs.
