Just finished up Mad Men and was looking for another series to start watching.

Have already seen Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Wire, Sopranos, Lost, Dexter, Californication, Entourage, Curb, Its Always Sunny, Archer, Office, Modern Family.... There are others too but can't think of them right now.

Looking for a new series to start. Don't really care what genre as long as its good. Not into True Blood or vampire type shows.

Use to watch King of Queens it was pretty funny.

Been told to check out Sons of Anarchy.

Anyone watch Walking Dead or Harry's Law? Someone told me to give those a try but I haven't.

I like fringe,  reminds me of old X-FIles.

Lights Out has turned out to be pretty damn good. If you like boxing at all you should check that one out.

Also would have to give my endorsement to Sons Of Anarchy.

walking dead was good but the season was like 5 episodes long.

Try Battlestar Galactica. I normally hate science fiction shows. I mean HATE, but this is one of the top 10 shows I’ve ever watched. Maybe even top 5. 

It also didn’t hurt that these were some of the main characters on the show:

Thr first episode was badass. Then it went downhill from there. The last two episodes were deplorable. In 90 minutes of air time there might have been a zombie onscreen for two whole minutes. I realize this is a show about people that just happens to have zombies in it, but those last two episodes were like watching paint dry compared to the first one. The whole season felt like a bait and switch.

I really hope they get their shit together next season. This show has a lot of potential.

good list, jpero.  i like everything on there except lost.

the problerm is, there just aren't very many good shows.  you may have to go foreign.  i assume you are getting these off of netflix.  if so, check out state of play (the tv series, not the movie) and MI6 (need to rent the dvd, can't watch the bbc show on tv).  

walking dead was pretty good but it is short.   

i hear six feet under is good but i haven't watched it yet.

sons of anarchy doesn't fit in well on your list but it isn't bad if you run out of other shows to watch.

Seen all those except friday night lights.

Arrested Development is one of the best comedies ever.

I really like boxing so I might check out Lights Out soon. My friend had the seasons of Sons of Anarchy on DVD so I am going to start that for now.

Jaysvdubwhat- Have you seen Trailer Park Boys? I ask cause you are from Canada. I was told its a great show but I watched the couple episodes a while ago but never really got back to watching it. Is it worth it to watch that series?

Straightshooter- I have actually heard good things about Battlestar. The sci-fi thing kind turned me off from giving it a watch. I'll add it to the list of shows to eventually watch. 


Has anyone ever watched undeclared (I think thats the name of hte show)? My friend told me its somewhat like Freaks and Geeks but it seems like it is difficult to find.

Undeclared is pretty good. It's another Apatow show with some of the same actors from Freaks and Geeks like Seth Rogan and a little bit of Jason Segel. Freaks and Geeks is more of a Drama than Undeclared. Freaks and Geeks is much better but it's still a good show. IFC runs both.

I actually just got done watching Trailer Park Boys about a week ago. With the exception of Seinfeld, Arrested Development and the first 4 seasons of Always Sunny, I don’t think a series has ever made me laugh so hard.  Each season had numerous times where I was laughing so hard I was literally crying.

Netflix currently has it available for instant watch. You should give it a try. The episodes are only about 20 minutes long so if you watch it and don’t like it, it’s no big loss.

24 (mostly the first 4-5 seasons)

shows I would not go out of my way to watch but would watch if there was nothing else on..
