Bringing this thread back to life since the Zimmerman case is over. At least the initial trial. If Eric Holder files extra charges then we can make a sequel.
Here is who should be cast so far.
Brad Pitt should play George Zimmerman. Since Zimmerman is a
"White Hispanic" and Brad Pitt did such a fine job as "The
Mexican" this casting is a no-brainer.
If there is a sequel Eric Holder can be played by Steadman (Oprah's Boyfriend) since the resemblance is uncanny. Personally, I think they are the same person. Have you ever seen the two together?
If anyone has any ideas forward them to Hollywood.
had "enough already". I think Zimmerman AND his mouthy brother's life from here on will be more like "The Fugitive" BUT not "running from the cops". they will be running from people way more scarier

WOW!!! another one everyone overlooked. 1960 fictionalized version the 1925 Scopes "Monkey" Trial with Spencer Tracy as Henry Drummond (fictional Clarence Darrow) and Fredric March as Matthew Harrison Brady (fictional William Jennings Bryan). a GREAT story with GREAT acting by all involved. check for when it's on Turner Classic Movies. definite

just watched The Conspirator (2010) about the trial of Mary Surratt, the only female conspirator charged in the Abraham Lincoln assassination. very well acted by all involved and should be a warning about what can happen when the federal government suspends constitutional rights in a time of crisis. was on EPIX last night and definitely worth watching IF your into courtroom dramas

There is also Amistad (that is a courtroom drama of such, and it is a great movie).
The John Adams HBO series are also great.
was mentioned in post #24 of the thread. also has a link to the YouTube of the John Quincy Adams speech at the Supreme Court. one of his best scenes ever

watched Sleepers (1996) again last night. excellent courtroom scenes with Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro. the way Pitt as prosecutor Michael Sullivan "jobs up" the trial to expose the Wilkinson Home guards as sadistic pedophiles while getting Tommy Marcano (Billy Crudup) and John Reilly (Ron Eldard) acquitted for the revenge murder of Sean Nokes (Kevin Bacon) is excellent. cross examination where defense lawyer Danny Snyder (Hoffman) exposes former guard Ralph Ferguson (Terry Kinney) = fantastic as is Father Bobby's (De Niro) "because I always keep the thicket stubs" alibi testimony
BUT for my money, the two most interesting characters in the whole movie are Vittorio Gassman as King Benny and Frank Medrano as "Fat" Mancho. also excellent is the late Bruno Kirby in the small roll as "Shakes" Carcaterra's (Jason Patric) father
