Just finished watching this series and it was great. Although I was very disappointed with the ending, it was still great. My question is why did this only go three seasons?

Deadwood was the greatest show on TV. Milch the creator wanted to do another season And HBO vetoed it.

Then they were going to give us 2 two hour mivies to wrap up the story....never happened.

All the characters were great creations...most based on real life people

Olyphant, (bullock) has a new series starting the 16th on FX. It's called Justified.

Swearengen was great. Hearst in season 3 was a Motherfucker. Great Portrayal by Gerald M.

Deadwood is definitely up their in top 10 tv shows of all time in my book. Still optimistic we will one day get a 2hr movie to end it properly 

Others in no particular order:
1. Deadwood
2. Sopranos
3. The Wire
4. Band of Brothers
5. Dexter
6. Arrested Development
7. Lost
8. Family Guy
9. Married with Children
10. Seinfeld

Thought "Mayor" Farnum, Johnny, Trixie, and Wild Bill in season 1 were some great performances also. Mr. Wu for comedic value too.

I will concede on married w children but need thoughts on band of brothers exclusion. Thought Bastogne episode was phenomenal and the episode "This is why we Fight" was one of those rare tv moments where my emotions were all over the place, from anger to sadness and back and forth. That was the episode where the concentration camps were discovered,

Just thinking about that episode has me ready to pop in the Basterds dvd to see Pitt and crew bust heads. "Bon Giorno"

If you can overlook all of the man on man action from it, OZ was a great series as well.

Great series for the first two and a half seasons but then story lines started getting goofy after season 3.

probably because i never finished band of brothers. i watched the first 3 and just didn't get into it. i should suck it up because there are only 7 other episodes.

Try to watch them before HBO starts the miniseries "The Pacific" that was done by the same Spielberg/Hanks crew. You will not regret it.

You endured the tough stretches of Band of Brothers that include that Schwimmer sissy. He is not in many more scenes after episode 3

 Rome...only lasted two season...but great show also.

They are actually making a movie that takes place 7 years after the series end

Total lack of respect for the poor viewers...I can understand getting hooked on some bullshit and then killing it cause it sucks...BUT this didnt suck -why the fuck would you ice it???

 

 

Fuck HBO and there bullshit - first the sopranos season closer and then fuck your viewers again and take deadwood away...I will never watch any other bullshit they try to peddle

Joey- I blame Milch. He wanted to write that pice of shit series John from Cincinnati. HBO actually made Milch do Deadwood in order to green light John from Cincy. Milch was pissed since his heart was set on doing a supernatural/surfing series

I never knew that about Milch. What a douchbag. Now i know why the season 3 ending was so disappointing, Milch probably wrote it half assed. How long did that John show last anyways? I know it flopped and they should have brought Deadwood back.

I actually found John in Cincinnati intersting, but I was so pissed at the cancellation of Deadwood that I didn't give it much of a chance

You guys getting into Spartacus at all?

I'm liking it.....Wouldn't want to wait a week between them, so I waited and downloaded 8 episodes at once.....getting to this point to you Deadwood guys. heard it was great, but can't believe I've never seen an episode, seeing my affinity for Westerns.

How many shows in a series?  If I rent them, I get a week per series. One a week sound reasonable?

I can't put it off any longer..........

So, it's good stuff guys?

Justified has aired 2 shows so far...You can probably check what you missed on their website. Good Show

from what I heard Deadwood was one of the most expensive shows ever created and the money they were making vs what they were shelling out was incredible...could not afford more...

I really liked that show

It was a great show Dennis. The acting and writing was superb. There were 3 seasons with 12 episodes per season. I watched season 1 in a day so a week is more than enough time to finish a season. You will not be disappointed.

Wow, i am really shocked to hear that seeing as that they basically only used 1 set the whole time and had no name actors at the time

Me too, since the trailers and such looked like they wouldn't be the expensive type.

I know that I have to see those 3 seasons now. Two a week, especially now the tourney has trimmed way down.
