Not only is Family Guy the best current TV show airing now-a-days......it's by far the best cartoon of all time. And i've had enough of people trying to tell me that South Park is just as good if not better. Am i the only person out here that is annoyed to the point of anger every time i run across South Park on Comedy Central. I honestly can't stand to watch more than 3 seconds of that garbage without wanting to throw my dog out of the window(i live 4 stories up).
I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE...

South Park is completely different than family guy. Family guy is nothing more than jokes and gags all thrown together to make up one crazy episode. Don't get me wrong. I watch it. But South Park has story lines, plots, character development, etc. South Park actually has messages and lessons to be learned in their episodes. Where as Family guy has.. well.. obscene joke after obscene joke.
I appreciate them both for what they are. But if I had to pick just one it'd be south park due to it requiring more thought and their ability to make great points about society.

How do you not see that in Family Guy. Granted the obscene jokes outnumber the social commentary but come on ... they do a great job of incorporating that aspect to the show. It's not frequent but when they do it, it's funny as hell.

Family Guy is shit compared to South Park. If you need any evidence watch the 2 part South Park that rips Family Guy to shreds.
Family Guy is all random unfunny jokes that have nothing to do with anything.
"you think sthats bad, remember the time I farted in front of the queen" (indert random unfunny flashback here)
South Parks episodes are funny, make you think, tackle issues, mock everything with purpose not just assinine random jokes.
As for social commentary on Family Guy, putting a Mcain Palin button on a Nazi uniform is funny social commentary?
Family Guy is crap

"Infinitely better"? C'mon... Admittedly, South Park has fallen off in recent years, but it's still way more humourous and topical than Family Guy could ever hope to be.
Plus, if you're not at least in your late twenties, I don't see how you would even get half of Family Guy's supposed 'jokes' (Quick, without Googling, tell me who sings "The Safety Dance", or who stars in "Say Anything").
Watch this clip from the "Cartoon Wars" episode of South Park and tell me you can't see how lame Family Guy is the majority of the time...

Wow tonights episode sure was top notch comedy... Handicapped ducks and then Fred Savage is Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore.... My sides hurt from all the laughter.
As for the biting political commentary , how about we keep saying over and over that Fox News is conservative?
I may have to rethink my stance on this show after such an incredible episode

I watch both but everything on south park relates to the broader meaning behind each episode such as the recent episode about the economy. Family Guy just goes along with no real significance and random sounds that are annoying as hell and have no relevance to anything.

From a Family Guy episode that was on the other night...
Peter: "What I wouldn't give to be 18 again, like those kids on spring break." Newsanchor: "Grim news from Daytona, Florida, where the remains of three female college students were found near a local nightclub. Reports suggest that all three were violated sexually before being brutally murdered." Peter: "Oh, man, see that? Everybody's getting laid but me."
Yeah... That's some real cutting edge humour...

Timing always perfect. Come on man, it's a cartoon.

South Park is intelligent humor, that's why so many think Family Guy is better. They get the pointless fart humor but not the humor that's making a point and has something to say in the process. As South Park said so well in the 9/11 episode, "1 in 4 people is retarded."
Family Guy has no rewatchability value whatsoever. I can watch the same South park episodes over and over and many are still entertaining. Don't get me wrong, not every episode is great (such as Mysterio), but South Park has far far more hits then misses.
Can't wait for the new episode tonight. I know it relates to the Somali Pirates

Sorry to break it to you blstuart... but you've got it the wrong way round, "3 in 4 people are retarded". South Park was way off in that episode.

I loved that mysterion episode. You had to see the Dark Knight to really find Cartmans stuff funny in that but I liked that episode too.
Wait the Manatees just wrote another Family Guy joke "You think thats bad? Remember the time I fell down in the bathroom at Chuck E Cheese?"
