Hangover 2

Just went to watch this tonite, this movie was an abomination. Not even mildly funny, it was pretty much a repeat of the first one except you know what's going to happen. Save your money 

Considering the first one was incredibly overrated, I didn’t have high hopes for this one.

The first one only had a couple of funny moments and everyone I know thinks it was one of the greatest movie ever. Sequels usually aren't as good as the original.

As i stated in an earlier post,always thought it was over-rated, nothing original or creative in the humor. Knew the 2nd would flop, the asians guy is annoying as hell as well.  Jim Carrey in his prime is the only thing that made me laugh out loud.

Watch an old episode of family guy, seinfeld or curb your enthusiasm and they succeed any movie film i've seen in the last 10 yrs.

I enjoyed the first one, but knew this one would blow.  You don't need 80 million dollars to make this sequel! 

Another recent "comedy" full of premises but no punch-lines.  I blame Andy Kaufman for starting this mess, and Will Farrell for proving you didn't need punch lines for Americans to think something was funny.  The first film was extremely over-rated, and I'm sure this one is a complete disaster -  that will make hundreds of millions of dollars. 

This right here is why I don’t blame the studios for making shit movies.

Very few people would work hard at something if they could get away with half-assing it and get paid the same.

If you want to blame someone, blame the people that keep paying money to see it. If enough people stopped seeing shitty movies the studios would be forced to actually take the time to make movies that were actually good. But that will never happen.

It's a combination of what you're saying and the amount of money poured into an advertising campaign to plant the seed across America that you really need to see this movie.

The studios are just trying to play it safe, and make movies they believe people will turn out for - you're right.

Yeah, who can blame Vince Vaughn for making one dog after another?  It's realtively hard in this world to get someone to pay you $10M to do something.  Why try and make something good, when nobody really cares, and making crap actually pays better? 

Lord, Fletch and Better Off Dead look like Citizen Kane compared to comedy films of the past 10-15 years.

You don't know the movies shit until u watch it

Thing is most people in this thread seem to already have predetermined that the movie is crap, so even if they watch it they will think it is.

Yeah I really thought the first one was good.   Greatest comedy, definitely not but it was a smart comedy, I thought.

This one might not be as good cuz we already saw the exact same movie again and know what happens

I thought it was funny. Not overall as good as th first but a few scenes are over the top rauncy hilarity.

I was encouraged by the trailers actually.  I thought they showed some funny things but not much so obviously most is buried in the movie.  If you notice over the past couple of years the so called comedies seem to always put everything funny in the movie in the trailer.

It’s a matter of opinion as to whether or not the Hangover was funny enough to warrant the ridiculous amount of praise it received, but “smart”? Come on, dude.   

How is it not smart?  I haven't really seen a movie similar so I would consider it smart.

Simply because you “haven’t really seen a movie similar” to it doesn’t make it a “smart comedy.”

Seinfeld is a smart comedy. Arrested Development is a smart comedy.

What Vince Vauhgn movie(s) are you referring to? I havent disliked any of his films.

There are educated opinions that are based on relative facts and then there are asinine opinions based on nothing substantive.

Example:

Person A says “Dirk Nowitzki has been the best player in the playoffs this season.”

Person B says “LeBron James has been the best player in the playoffs this season.”

Person C says “Steve Blake has been the best player in the playoffs this season.”

 

Seinfeld is witty and smart. It's a puzzle of comedy. if you dont understand the comedy then I question your intellect.  However i also like sarcastic comedy but not overly crude like the movies now.
