Had you been in the military during Desert Storm you would have liked it.  It was very well done.

No more over rated than No Country for Old Men. Both boring mostly, not much plot.

I haven't seen it so I can't comment on that, but if the movie requires being part of Desert Storm to enjoy it, then it's not a good movie.

Didn't say it was a requirement.  Just speaking from personal experience.  It's much more authentic than the usual bullshit Hollywood churns out.

I don't know Henry,  I have been on over 200 route clearance  missions, and have been attached with EOD for 30+  Neutralization of IED's,  and a lot about the Hurt Locker is just flat out wrong.  It was a descent movie, but the part where the main character goes rogue through the streets and gets his buddy killed are just about as far fetched as you can get . Definitely relate to the end of the movie though when he goes home.

Not saying it was spot on, but compared to the absolute jokes that Hollyweird usually puts out, this was very good.

We were put into a multinational task force with the II MEF
Did some time in Diyalah with the 2nd ID
and near Sammara with the 101st. 

Route Clearance is Probably the best 'Reservist' Army Job for being able to be with some real high speed people. 

We also worked closely with the Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army.

We were passed around like person, but it was definitely a great experience.

Have not seen it yet. Most of the military movies (especially about the current wars) are dumb. Black hawk down was money.

I missed that part. Guy got shot in the leg but not killed. So there are no bad apple soldiers in out military. Nobody crosses the line when no one is there to stop them? Please do tell

I watched it via netflix.  It was decent, but nothing special. Avatar, on the other hand, was one of the best movies I have ever seen.

What a piece of shit, American propoganda. The part where they make the British soldiers out to be a bunch of pussys and the all mighty Americans save the day is laughable.

I didn't understand that scene.  Was the body bomb made to go off there, or was it going somewhere else?  I just didn't get that scene.
And the third act was pretty bad.  Other than those two aspects, I thought it was pretty damn intense.  Basically an exercise in editing since it's the same story over and over again (man deactivates IED)
