Awesome movie, but the question remains to been seen. Does the top keep spinning or does it stop? I lean towards stopping

    Movie was ridiculous.

The ending is just meant to mess with your head.  He was able to view the kids faces so I believe the top was going to stop.

Definitely one of the best movies I have seen in quite some time. Maybe one of the best movies I have seen. Its tough to say without seeing it a second, third, 4th time.

I think the top stops spinning because the kids finally turned around.

Kids are still the same age, wearing the same clothes, and the boy is still digging. I think it was a dream but who knows.

    Excellent movie none the less

Just saw it again and I have changed my opinion as right before it cuts the top starts to wobble so I think they gave us the storybook ending and he is able to be with his kids.

movie was awesome...anyways I think at the end it wasn't a dream.  Someone told me  everytime Leo was in the reality world he didn't wear a wedding ring, but in the dream world he does have it on (And at the end he wasn't wearing a ring). Also  I heard that you hear a thud right before the screen blacks out at the end

quick question...I was confused what the whole mission was about, because I thought the whole point of the mission was to convince the guy to tank his fathers company. But I thought he initially wanted to destroy the company because his father called him a disappointment so what was the team trying to change in his mind? Also at the end it seems like he had a change in heart to keep the company alive for his father.

He wanted to keep the company together so he could roll in the money the company would make because the company was his inheritance.  Saito wanted the company destroyed so they would not take over the industry.  They went back and made him change his mind to destroy the company and try to build his own empire instead of just rolling in his father's cash.

I was getting a bit confused with the three dream levels going on simultaneously. I did sneak a 6 pack into the theater so I probably just missed a few things.

How were they in different dream levels simultaneously? Wouldn't they go in order. I dunno maybe I was just drunk.

I was getting a bit confused with the three dream levels going on simultaneously. I did sneak a 6 pack into the theater so I probably just missed a few things.

How were they in different dream levels simultaneously? Wouldn't they go in order. I dunno maybe I was just drunk.

    4 dream levels was awesome

the fight in the hallway when it was spinning was sick along with the zero gravity fight

how they worked the "kicks" in at each level to wake up at the same time and how the time all worked out was awesome. Saito was there for 50 years but woke up and it was only 10 hours in the real world, crazy....

IMO the top stops spinning....my thinking is they never give a timeframe but it doesn't seem like its been long since his wife's death so that would explain the kids age not changing much
also....if you believe he is dreaming, then you have to go under the assumption the whole movie is one big dream like his wife elludes to when he is talking to her in the 4th dream level AND if he is still dreaming, where is he dreaming from? like where is he then in real life...

    awesome movie

agree with every thing you said. in all the dreams, we see the top spinning perfectly and in the final scene you can see it start to wobble a little so i think it is safe to say it was all real

But arent they going to be releasing a couple more down the road?  I hope the top stops but you never know... They plan to make this a franchise so anything is possible.

First off I have to say I think this was one of the best movies I have seen in a long while.

But like some others have stated you have to watch it again before you can really say it's one of the best you have ever seen but I plan on watching it again within the next couple of weeks.

Also I would think that the end was real. But you can also make a case for it not being real.

Christopher Nolan has a full plate on his hands. Batman 3 then he is going to produce the next Superman movie.

So they would not even be able to begin principal photography until the spring of 2013 with a summer of 2014 release so I would not hold your beathe on a sequel anytime soon.

I would love to see it happen, and maybe it will. But it wont happen for at least another 4 years.

Guys I have a question. Maybe I missed something and someone can answer this for me.

I thought that because they were under heavy sedation being killed would not wake them up.

Then how did Dom and Saito wake up from the 4th level limbo world at the end of the film?

You have to assume that he shot and killed Dom then pulled the trigger on himself (they never actually showed you what happened...just that he was reaching for his gun).

Is this a goof in the plot or did I miss something?

the way I see it, it stopped spinning at the end.  When he was in the dream parts, the object would keep on spinning and would spin perfect and never even wobble.  At the end, you can start to see the totem wobble and slow down.

Since they were under sedation, they needed to have a "kick" like they talked about. As we see with Cobb and his wife, they got out of limbo by killing themselves. So i think like you said Cobb and Saito go out of limbo by killing each other but then got out of the different levels from each subsequent kick such has the bus hitting the water and the elevator drop. Thats what I think and hopefully it makes sense

Pretty good movie, not sure I would put it as a best ever type movie since I am not sure I would be interested in watching it over and over again (which is how I determine my favorite movies).

There is one issue I had with the ending, or should I say right before the ending.  When he got back to where he was on the airplane, I have no doubt he wouldve spun the top right then and there to make sure he was actually in the real world.  He didn't.  Instead, they saved it for the end when he sees the kids which kinda made the end a little cheesy for me.

I will stick to bourbon in a flask when I’m in the mood for that sort of thing. No way could I drink a whole 6 pack and be able to hold for 2 and a half hours.
