movie From Hell (2001) on HBO

From Hell (2001)&#xD;&#xA;suspense semi-slasher mystery about the Jack the Ripper murders which takes the premis that the Ripper was never caught because a member of the British Royal family would have involved in the case. &#xD;&#xA;good suspense with many plot twists and excellent acting by all involved esp Johnny Depp, Robbie Coltrane and Ian Holm. even the Mrs liked it and she&#x27;s usually not into blood and gore. more a suspense-mystery than a pure "slasher" movie although it IS bloody. I though it was some what similar to the 1995 made for TV movie "Citizen X" with the police inspector trying to pin down who the real murderer is while higher-ups are blocking his path.&#xD;&#xA;definately recommended for murder mystery fans  &#xD;&#xA;it&#x27;s on HBO in both standard def and HD again Saturday July 10th @ 11:00 pm and again Sunday July 11th @ 2:00 am (both pacific daylight time)

I watched this movie a few years ago, but I thought it was pretty good. One thing thing that I remember about it was the way the movie was filmed. Definitely adds to the movie.

cinematography, esp the lighting, is outstanding and really adds to the "darkness" of the story line.

I saw this one last year and I thought it was decent. As a fan of the setting, style, and genre I really wanted to like it more, but it just didn&#x27;t draw me in.
