Movie: Interstellar (2014)

Question

watched last night on EPIX1 and is quite possably the MOST"discombobulated" MESS of a Sci-Fi movie I have EVER seen. the plot line is completely ridiculous, the characters idiotic and the acting definitely not up to an "all-star" cast's standards. the CGI and space scenes no better (and less suspenseful) than in Gravity (2013) which for my money was ANOTHER over-hyped bust. after sitting thru it's almost 3 hours (with plenty of pauses for beer and smoke breaks to try and stay sane) I was left with " just WTF HAPPENED here?" did the humans actually leave the dying Earth for a planet far, far away or NOT? the whole "timey wimey" thing (to steal a line from Doctor Who) left me complely confused and there is NO real ENDING to the movie. it's just kind of "chopped off" with NO explanations

it was ok at best. Had some great special effects in my opinion and some stuff that you had to wrap your head around. Like how they were in the other dimension for 2 minutes and it was like a decade for the guy they left. It was sort of like Inception where some loved it or hated it to me. Wasn't great, but wasn't the worse I have seen.

I guess you didn&#x27;t follow the movie too well... "No real ENDING"?You probably need to re-watch it if that&#x27;s the case, bub.the special effects were unreal and the movie was actually quite accurate when it comes to the science. as flutiemaniac stated, physicist Kip Thorne helped create the movie and quite a smart man.

After watching the movie I couldn&#x27;t buy into the premise that time is relative.   After what felt like 8 hours of viewing, was actually only 2.5.

all the CGI in the universe couldn&#x27;t save the convoluted plot AND overly long length. there was plenty that could have been left on the cutting room floor and I agree with Flutiemaniac341&#x27;s The film ran very long and you can tell they tried to speed through (the ending) to tie up loose ends which is probably WHY it was completely confusing and left a BUNCH of questions hangingI really have NO desire to re-view this mess to see "what I missed". also thought the "trying to add to the "suspense" sound track was really more a detraction. also don&#x27;t actors learn to enunciate their lines any more? they could ALL use some Shakespearean stage training

this is one of those movies you need to watch 3x to fully comprehend what you saw, the premise is well above the average intelligence of your regular movie goer

Nolan takes big swings, and tackles difficult material. I applaud him for that. I'm not sure this move quite gets there in the end, but it did make me think. I thought some of the acting was very good (McConaughey, the girl who played Morgan as a young girl). FX weren't great. Probably needed another two hours to tell the story properly. Would have made a good made-for-tv, pre-established story arc sort of thing. Still, better than most dreck that comes out these days.

I thought some of the acting was very good (McConaughey, the girl who played Morgan as a young girl).my only problem with Matt McConaughey (and most modern "movie stars" for that matter) is their diction is AWFUL. they tend to mumble or wispier lines trying to be "dramatic" and it is just annoying. I could NOT understand half of his lines in this movie

Interstellar was a letdown. It was over acted and over written. Everything was done in excess. Christopher Nolan is starting to go downhill. I didnt like the last Batman and now Interstellar is mediocre at best.

The Prestige is still and will always be Nolan's best movie.

I still can&#x27;t believe how I didn&#x27;t watch it when it came out. Now I have lots of regrets just because of that. I can&#x27;t imagine how it would feel to watch that great film on IMAX, on that silence and that big screen... I sometimes think of mailing cinemas near to me to ask them to put Interstellar on IMAX even just for once so I can watch it but then I go like "Meh, they probably won&#x27;t..." :/

In my opinion it was a pure masterpiece... Sure some things don&#x27;t make sense, but holy shit it&#x27;s a sci-fy movie, if it all made sense, then it would be reality and we&#x27;d be off this planet
