Yes Man... Had some funny parts , I kind of enjoyed this movie, not great but I liked it
watched Resurrecting the Champ (2007) last night on Encore. boxing based story with an interesting plot twist. excellent acting by Samuel L. Jackson as "The Champ", Josh Hartnett as young sports reporter Erik Kernan Jr, who's father had been a famous 1950's sport radio reporter, and Alan Alda as his assignment boss at the newspaper.
it's on Encore the next few nights and well worth watching. very different roll for Jackson. I give it a

also watched Australia the other night. thought it would be a complete turkey because I'm really not a big Nicole Kidman or Hugh Jackman fan BUT it turned out to be a pretty good story. David Wenham as the villian Neil Fletcher is excellent but young Brandon Walters as the half breed Nullah, along with the scenes of the Australian Outback, reaaly steal the show.

the day the earth stood still (2008) on HBO
wanted to see if it was as bad a remake of the 1951 SciFi classic as people said. IT WAS. typical wooden acting by Keanu Reeves as Klaatu and I wanted to strangle that kid that played Jacob Benson. thought John Cleese was decent as Professor Barnhardt but he had a very small part in the movie compared to Sam Jaffe in the original and they needed more scenes with the GORT. THEN, after two hours of just about total confusion, it just ENDS when Klaatu gets back in his sphere and just departs the earth leaving all kinds of loose ends.
Harry Bates, who wrote the original story, estate should sue their ass.
and speaking of people named Bates, I was hoping Kathy Bates, who played SecDef Regina Jackson, would get a metal eating bug enema at the end of the movie.
only worth watching to see just how BAD hollywood can screw up the modern remake of a classic.

Was almost gonna watch that yesterday rinkrat and then decided not to bother
some of the special effects are pretty good so I would say it's worth recording to watch when there's nothing else on BUT it's for sure not a movie worth renting or watching on pay-per-view. if you have an HBO subscription I would watch it and then record the original when it's on turner classic movies or some other old movie channel just to compare.

Had to watch this one with the wife, but was pleasantly surprised:
Four Christamses (Vaughn/Witherspoon)
I hate comedies, but I was rolling through most of it.
