Next Batman Villain?

I say it's gotta be the Riddler...probably the second-most intriguing Villain of the previous Batman movies behind Joker.  Could make for one hell of a character if they get the right guy, Jim Carey was god awful but I'm sure Nolan would have no problem getting a great performance out of whoever he selects...

These villains aren't well known but they might work out well on the big screen:

Clay Face - I dunno his origin...probably a criminal that was killed in a vat of radioactive Play Dough and then dumped in a swamp. Kind of like Sandman but...well...clay.

Killer Croc - The Dark Knight series is darker than the other ones. A giant 1/2 man, 1/2 crocodile fighting Batman in the sewers could work.

I would say anything but the Penguin would be a good choice
 
 
You have to remember much of the 3rd film will be about Batman going through a very very tough time in his life....it will be VERY DARK
 
 
So a Villian per-say might not play a huge role in the next film

Haven't seen Dark Knight yet. I think Catwoman would play well in your scenario. Play the mental anguish angle over their "forbidden" attraction conflict. Not a lot action/fighting would be necessary.

yeah once you see "The Dark Knight" you will understand more of what I'm saying....I dotn want to spoil anything for the people who have not seen the movie

maybe in a month or so when everyone has seen it we can talk more in depth about this

these newer movies are a lot darker and the villains are very carefully selected and used in the storyline
i agree that they will probably prefer to use less popular and lesser known villians to have a better plot than throwing in the penguin, mr freeze and the riddler just because.

excellent movie!

they removed a villian they could've used next movie by killing Dent, wasn't expecting that.

I assumed that they were setting it up for the third movie's villain until they killed Dent off.......Made a lot of sense to me..
 
Very sad that we won't have Heath Ledger's Joker in the third segment..........

Finally got around to seeing this. Great movie. It'll be interesting to see which way they go with the next villian. Hard to see how they could possibly bring Two-Face back with the way they ended it but you never know. You have to think that the end result of the next movie will be getting Batman back into Gotham's good graces. Arkham jailbreak maybe? Or something more subtle? Can't see the Bane storyline working here at all. Any ideas who potentially replaces Ledger as the Joker?

Lots of possibilities.  A dark Riddler would be cool.

Thought the Dent/ 2 Face character was gonna be a set up for the next film.... but then they killed him.

We need real villians with real superpowers.
 
And real superheroes with real superpowers.
 
Bring on Justice League of America (DC) and The Avengers (Marvel)! ***See ending of Hulk 2.
 
If the film studios can do X-Men, Transformers, Hulk and Iron Man, they are ready to bring on the big and bad meanies (and goodies)of the comic universe.

I disagree, I think they need more of a odd looking Catwoman.

A rumor(probably false) was Cher.  I think she would be great, old, fuked up looking, just plain dark and odd.

I'm thinking the Penguin. Batman will start off as the villain well at least he will be in Gothams eyes and then Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin) will step in and try to become mayor and probably look like a hero to Gotham until the roles reverse and Gotham realizes they need Batman.

That's my guess and from my recollection that is what happened in Batman Returns. I'm not sure sure how close Nolan is following previous Batman movies though so it's anyone's guess.
