The Body Snatcher (1945) on Turner Classic Movies Saturday Oct 29th @ 8:00 pm pacific
classic 1940's horror with Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi and Henry Daniell (who played a lot of villians back then including Professor Moriarty in the Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes films)
based on the 1828 West Port murders by the body snatchers Burke and Hare who supplied cadavers to a surgeon Dr Robert Knox. the Karloff character is based on Burke while the Daniell character is Dr Knox.
VERY well acted by all involved. it's the last movie where both Karloff and Lugosi performed together. runs 78 minutes so IF you record on a DVR, I would extend the end time. first time I recorded this on TCM, it chopped off the last 3 minutes of the film.
