Danish crime series from 2007. Now airing on BBC4 with hardcoded english subtitles.
Now i can imagine you will think, danish language and subtitles, ... run for the hills.
But dont... this is a mega succes in Europe and now in England. What makes "The killing" such an appealing show is that it gives nothing away as to who did it.
The acting is superb, the music works well and the cinematography underscore the theme of it all.
The theme of it all is a murder, but there is other layers of rot in politics and society.
The brits are raving about it, they have forums with 100 pages of posts with debate and leads on suspects and such.

The brits almost all say that this is one of the best crime mystery's they have ever seen.
Each part signifies one day and it is a 20 parter.

As a side note, AMC doing an US version. Will problably be bollocks as usual, since part of its mystique is the bleak northern fall and winter.
