well they FINALLY got rid of that murdering person Earl Haraldson (played by Gabriel Byrne) in episode 6.

I am still watching it, but i do not think it is very good to be honest.

Mikael you don't like it?  I love it personally.  Now I am not a great historian when it comes to the Viking age but from what I do know they appear to be pretty decent in replicating what is know about these people.  Love the Ravens reference coming down from Oden to bring news of Earl Haraldssen's death back to the god of gods, among others.  I never heard of the Vikings sacrificing humans to the gods but I looked it up and apparently in rare occasions it did happen.  I think it is a great series and looking forward to more to come.

I think that Earl Haraldssen demonstrated why his fellow clansmen follow him all these years despite his rather oppressive style in his dialogue regarding how he actually respects Ragna.  It appears to me from his statements that he took his position out of strength and raw aggression/ambition.  If you can take the position of power away from the man in charge you become the one in charge.  If you cannot then STFU and do what I say bi%ch.  Moreover, you also noticed he has to be this a$$hole or his sub-servants will start following someone stronger than he and he will lose his power.  It is kinda of like a pimp and a bi%ch relationship.

I did not like the first 5 episodes, it has got a little bit better now. 
I think the biggest failure about it was/is that the dialogue where cheesy and not like how a viking would do it. 

Also some of the phrases used are not correct. Like we are going to Ting .. or Thank you lord .. 

And then the historic part of it is incorrect, which is kinda funny when you consider it airs at History. 

Ragner Lodbrog was a danish viking, and here he is in the norweigan parts of scandinavia. Also Ragner was not the first viking to raid england, and it didnt take place when they say it did.

Yeah you are right about that but like "The Bible" I got past some of the historical inaccuracies and was rejoiced about some of the ones they got right.  What do you think of them using the name Loki for one of the clansmen?  Do you really think any Viking would name themself after a god?  Even though he is my favorite character and just he way he presents himself reminds me of the playful nature of the norse god Loki.

I'm still watching...Mostly because they show it 3 or 4 times every Sunday night and I'm able to watch it at midnight when their ain't s h i t else on.

Not a bad finale.  Is the "sickness" that spread in the village supposed to be Dupuytren’s disease?  They set next season up but if you have been watching this year that circumstance was inevitable.  Ragnar is too cunning to not know something is up with his brother.  Interesting plot development.  Thoughts on the finale?
