I blame the media, they tell people what is "cool" DJ plays what the retards want, the retards like it because they are told it's cool.
today's pop-rap music is ignorant, it makes us all lazy and dumber, anyone can free style rap, put an annoying repetitive background have it on MTV with person and beer and a #1 song even though the song brings nothing new or anything that's going to promote something life changing, everyone loves it, because retards like retarded music, it's why rappers are rhyming instead of playing instruments, playing an instrument would involve putting time into something and talent. you could make endless songs about drinking and bitches and it will never end, no music dept, or musicality color changes, changes in key or tempo, or really anything musical at all. Just noise sung from ignorance with a unlimited audience that has no clue what real music sounds like. All they care about is shake that ass bitch and have a shot, sung by high school drop outs, for the products of the "no child left behind act"
look at Rap from the 80, 90's original, fresh, funny, and often very good. i remember the first time i heard Guilty conscience from M and Dre, the song was good vs. evil, and told a story, it was intellectual and worth my time as a listener. Pac was the poet of the streets, i felt Rap had an identity, not all rap was the same.
Not just Rap, the media. i honestly feel that who is once popular always will be, i have heard horrible singles from stars that go number #1 because they are on magazines. I would bet every dollar i have that if Lady Gaga and Britney Spears were to record a single of them Burping the alphabet that it would go number 1, get its own Ipod commercial, and more than likely win music video of the year.
the idea of my rant is that musicality is not important in today's music, that's why it sucks
