They toured from 62- august 66 relentlessly. i do believe if they did continue to tour they would've burned out sooner and went their seperate ways before march 30 1970. John, Paul and George were together 13 years. they went through alot together.
did u know that John quit the band on september 20 1969? the band kept it quiet bc of their obligation for 1 more album which was the "cleaning up of "Get Back" which turned out to be "Let It Be" along with Abbey Road. Let it Be was released after the breakup.
"I me Mine" was the last official Beatle recording without john being present.

most overated, yet influentual band in the history of rock. pardon the grammer. There is not one Beatles song that a top notch garage band could not duplicate note for note.Of course being in the time and moment and being the oringinal does count.

as a matter of fact the 1st song they did after john and george coerced Ringo back was Yer Blues and all 4 of them recorded it live in the same room as they did in the early 60's.

I couldn't tell you if that song is technically difficult to play or not..But at about 2:45, he sounds like he's going to town on those drums. Killer stuff for a left handed bass player.

Fair to say we could have expected better?
As solo artists..John's probably the only one I ever really liked.
john always wrote sons based on himself and his experiences. paul was the poppy hit maker. george was into his spiritual stuff and ringo was just ringo.
all in all i feel paul had more successful solo career with george 2nd. love both of their solo stuff. as for john, he had so many good songs that drew u in. u had to understand john to feel his songs. see john had that break from 75-summer 80. he said he had writers block and didn't really care bc he was a family man at that point. can't imagine if he'd still be around if he stayed retired.

Is it correct that Paul McCartney and Lennon had spoke about reuniting The Beatles in 1980 shortly before his untimely death?
I don't think Paul and John spoke to each other about it but in 1976 Greorge appeared on SNL along with Paul Simon and they did a duet of Here Comes the Sun and Homeward Bound. During that episode Lorne Michaels offered a $3000 check to the Beatles on Live tv if they would reunite on SNL. George was musical guest and he said to Lorne that being he was the only 1 that showed up he should get the check .
At that time Paul was visiting John at Johns' apartment in Manhattan just hanging out and word has it that they were both considering going the studio as a goof but they decided against it.
They were always on good terms after everything was settled with Apple. No more pressure or Bullshit. Just friendly aquaintences.

Another story given by Mae Pang who was John and Yokos assistant from 72- 75 was that Yoko wanted a break from John so she let John go on a 2 year "Lost Weekend" and have an affair with Pang. during that time john was still recording and hanging out with Steven Stills,Keith Moon,Jagger and others in LA.
While John and Pang were doing their thing, Pang says that John was always talking about his mates and how much he missed them. he wanted to do a concert or another album with them or something as a group again.( george and ringo played on alot on johns solo work)

Thanks for the Lennon65 , good info I am sure they would have been reunited had John lived... sounds like he both Paul and John wanted it. I agree Double Fantasy is a great piece of work compared to a lot of the crap he put our in the mid 70 ties.
