and yet for as long as I been on covers, no one has posted anything about jazz....whats up with that??? so here it is:
straight ahead or free or fusion...or misc.
anyone in particular you wanna give mad props to?
By the way, looks like that Louis Armstrong biopic Forest Whitaker is supposed to star in and direct is going to get done (shooting to start in 2011)...conversely, there is small small budget independent film that has been in production for about 2 yrs now about satchmo..be interesting to see which one is released first...

I think that this music crew has quite a variety of different types of types of tunage.......
Misfit, i've never seen you post in here......Like Henry said, post up your interests. We discuss, not fill lists of what people think we aren't talking enough about.
Welcome to the music crew Misfit.....
I saw Les Brown and his Band of Reknown. Had back stage passes, and all his boxes for the instruments said "Bob Hope" on them. As many might know historically, Les Brown traveled along with Bob Hope and had about a 20 piece jazz band playing ........Really great show.....

I love David Sanborn. Does he count?

Before I knew how talented he was, Wayman Tisdale has always been one of my favorite Hoops players. Younger guys aren't going to know who he is.......Tisdale was a prolific scorer for the Pacers, Kings ij the 80s, and I think he went to the Phoenix Suns in '88......Usually averaging in the 16-17 points a game till his later years for Phoenix till '94. Scored 20-22+ pts a game from '89-'91.....(next to Tom Chambers, Kevin Johnson, some Barkley years, Hornacek, and Majerle years......He unfortunately developed diabetes, and he had a leg amputated, and then sadly passed away last year....That sucked really bad.... Wayman Tisdale's Hoops wikipedia
Wayman Tisdale Hoops stats (impressive for those who don't know about him)
Wayman Tisdale's music page
I didn't own any of them, but his last 3 CDs were pretty good, and a couple got up the charts fairly impressively..........
Wayman......R.I.P.

just surprising not a single Jazz conversation got stared. It is the mother of all modern music (blues being the daddy) filled with larger than life characters and interesting stories.

I have brought up Coltrane, Davis and Coleman before. But you're right, there doesn't seem to be much love for the jazz age around these parts. Correction: there may be the love, but not the mentions.

if you asked for best bass player ever?....you would get JPJ.......Geezer......Entwistle.......+++ best (arguably of course).....that probably wouldn't sniff the list.....is Marcus Miller here with others that wouldn't either.... drummer Vinnie Colaiuta guitarist Lee Ritenour and keyboardist George Duke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUzu-5UcN-s&feature=related
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.
