In 1962 – The Beatles first single “Love Me Do” reaches its peak of No. 17 in the chart. Cynics suggest that manager Brian Epstein personally bought 10,000 copies to boost its position.
When I was a little kid my older sister and cousins played the living crap out of this record.

hey Jimmag. not saying i know everything about The Beatles but as far as i know, John left the group on Sept 20th 1969 (they kept it quiet). The four of them signed papers on March 31st 1970 disbanding the group and then Paul in an interview after his solo release on April 10th somewhat announced it was over.

December 31st was the day Paul actually filed the papers to disband The Beatles so I guess you could label it as announced break up. At least he waited till after Christmas.
What is the official date of breakup? Most likely what you said when the all signed the papers in March 1970.
I hope you got to check out that video Lennon was awesome.
Man, did they let us down.

In the year 1979 – The YMCA sues the Village People over their song of the same name. Maybe they had a problem with the lyrics “You can hang out with all the boys.” lol

I was lucky enough to see the original band August 27th 1977 a couple of months before his death on October 20th 1977. It was in Anaheim, CA. The show's full lineup was: Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foriegner, REO Speedwagon & Rex. Great show it was.
I remember during Free Bird Anaheim Stadium was rocking so hard you could see the sections of the stadium moving not inches but feet back and forth. It looked like they were going to collapse.
RIP Ronnie and all that perished on the fateful day

In the year 1980 – Paul McCartney was jailed for nine days in Tokyo for marijuana possession after being found with 219g on his arrival at Narita Airport in Japan.
In the year 1984—Paul and Linda McCartney were arrested in Barbados for drug possession and were each fined $200 (£117).
Paul, if you are browsing the message boards please stay inside do not go out this seems to be an unlucky date for you mate.
Maybe Paul was not only writing this about wife Linda and also writing about Mary Jane?

1997 – At the American Music Awards, starchy crooner Pat Boone reveals his new “metal” direction, wearing leathers and a studded collar. His weekly Gospel America TV show is cancelled.
