FINALLY got to see a live concert Sunday August 8th at Foxwoods. Jackson Browne was originally scheduled in March. This is the first live event of any kind I've attended in over 1 1/2 years. This Covid lock down has been BRUTAL!!!
At 72 years old, his hair is grey and his face weathered. But his mind sharp and his voice still very brilliant. He moves fluidly and looks to be in excellent physical shape for age 72. And very feisty! A second row Karen tried to shout down a couple dancers in the front row, and Browne raced to the edge of the stage in their defense, in mid song. "Hey, you sit down! People have a right to dance if they want!" Then, he ordered Security to remove parts of the steel barriers so people could move in front of the stage to dance. Epic.
All Jackson Browne classics were played except one. The Pretender, Doctor my eyes, Take it easy, Running on empty, and even new songs like Cleveland Heart. MIA for some unknown reason was The Load Out / Stay. Maybe he was fatigued? Maybe the show ran too long? I dunno. It will remain a mystery.
Overall Jackson Browne appeared very happy to be performing once again and the Connecticut natives gave him an enthusiastic reception and loud support throughout. Excellent concert. Thank You Jackson Browne!!!

One of the tests of a great song is time and as long as there is free radio Doctor My Eyes & Take It Easy will be in the rotation. He also wrote for or co- with Greg Allman one of my favorite songs "These Days". Goose, may you & yours be well and keep on keeping on.

One of his albums (wow, this word dates me) that is still as fresh as the day it came out is "Late For The Sky" The words in that album title song is a straight gut punch. Love it
