Didn't know much about this green haired Billy Eilish other than she sings softly, and downright whispers on most songs.
Giving her a listen today, nice voice, on key but using multiple layers on the recordings. As far as I can tell there's not much auto tune being used. Kudos to that in an age where most people can't hit a note without it.
The arrangements musically couldn't be less minimal than they are. Combined with the soft voice, I find myself turning up the volume just to hear what's going on.
If I had to guess, during a live show she'd need a backing vocal track constantly to maintain volume.
If the venue were a small dark jazz club, I'd check her out.
Any thoughts?
