You guys all make me sick on this guaranteed Denver "pay back" bullshit. Dallas is not just going to roll over and let Denver win by double digits. Dallas not only should be tied 2-2 in this series, but Dallas could have easily stolen game 1 or 2. They were right with Denver in the 4th quarter of both games in DN and then let stupid turnovers do them in in the final 8 minutes.
Every single person on covers is overlooking this bullshit "Revenge" factor due to what happened in the stands. This is the NBA fellas, these arent highschool kids. Dallas will be ready to play knowing that if they can pull it out tonight, they will win game 6 back home and ultimately force a game 7. Dont think because Denver has won by 10+ at home previously that they can easily do it again. Dallas will be ready. Besides, when 100% of you people are on one side, Vegas makes you all look like morons.
Dallas +10 for $1000. My largest straight wager since the super bowl. One Deposit, one play, one cash out. GL

-10 is not a duck. its actually scary to bet -10 on playoffs, and after a close game. MAVS is the duck here my friend. +10??? are you kidding me? this is why it's high. to scare nuggets bettors away. and this is why im sticking with nuggets.

Denver wasn't even trying last game and almost won. Once Denver gets their 14pt lead tonight, they will not look back. They will leave Billups in until it is a 30pt lead.

Always
good to have some contrarian thinking. I tend to like Denver on a
tease, and even straight up. But 10 points is a lot. "Everyone" knew
the Cavs would cover in game 4 Atlanta, but they didn't unless you
bought the hook.
That said, let me tell you why I still like Denver at this spread:
Dallas
fits the profile of a team that will, ahm, yah, I'm sorry, lay down a
bit if the game is against them. I don't mean literally stop trying,
but there's trying, and then there's the frantic, desperate, resolute
effort needed to win a game like this, or even make it close -- and I
don't see them having it.
Veteran teams who have "been there,"
and know they've lost a series -- Detroit this year, Miami two years
ago -- fit the profile of a team that does get closed out in a
decisive, cover type of game.
Denver fits the profile of a
rising team that will go home and take care of buziness... having
almost done so even without Birdman, on the road, in game 4. And they
do have a little added motivational edge tonight. I'm glad they're
using it.
Having predicted Denver in five (see my pre-series blog post), I still like it, and I like them to cover.
But
I also appreciate Nikos's comments above -- a rare example of someone
doing some actual thinking, and posting something that adds value for
all of us that are interested in making some money, rather than going
"rah rah my team." Thanks NG.

As well, take a look at Dallas on the road to end the regular season.
(I discount the San Antonio series a tad... a decimated team.) The
two wins were over Minnesota and Indiana, by 2 points. They lost to
New Orleans (!) by 10, to Memphis, to Cleveland by 28 (all right,
Cleveland -- but they laid down like dogs), the Lakers, Atlanta, and
Golden State.
You have to look back a long way for a quality
road win, or even a quality road cover, by Dallas. I'd put that on
March 11, winning at Portland. Good for them. But that was two months
ago.
Still likin' the Nuggets. But also liking NG for his injecting some serious discussion... too rare on these boards.

You unfortunately can't compare the road losses in the reg season to the present. If you want to look at that, you might as well throw in that Dallas lost ridiculously to OKC and Minnesota AT HOME! Stuff happens, teams lose games they are supposed to win.
Sure, Tailer, it takes balls to lay 9' to 10 points in a playoff game. But when joe pub is all over one side (as covers relays, obviously) then its worth a double take on the other side. I have come to this board far too many times to look for advice on a game i was on the fence. Instead of staying away, i went with the side that the most people were "comfortable" with. Wrong. And in this situation, I think some of you are looking too far into the "revenge" and Mark Cuban and Denver wives Club drama. Same goes for everyone who said the mavs were psychologically DONE when the news broke that Dirl's pregnant fiance was a criminal. Then he came out and led his team to 1 (should have been two) victories.
Im just saying...dig deeper. Dallas hung with Denver every single game of these series and should be tied 2-2. everyone knows that.
If Denver should pull away, its late. Dont expect a Hou/La or Den/NO or Cle/Atl blowout.

About the arrogance comment...and the BS racial card nonsense that DENVER Wives Club is using in the media...Dallas Morning News interviewed two fans that sat in the section behind lala gaga or whatever her name is ....everything as usual has been blown out of proportion. Read here.

Well, Nikos, if you can't compare anything to anything that's different, you can't compare game 1 to game 4, or the teams without Anderson playing to the teams playing with Anderson...
All I was trying to say was this: The regular season tells me something. The regular season told me Detroit was mailing in the year, and I took Cleveland in every game. The regular season tells me something about Dallas's ability to win on the road. The first two games tell me something (as you quite rightly point out) about Dallas's ability to hang with Denver through three quarters. (Though once Josh Howard got up to about five bad ankles, Dallas was sunk in this series anyway.) The fourth game tells me something about the difference Anderson makes not only in containing Dirk, but in wearing him down so that he doesn't light up the board in the fourth quarter. And so on.
So even if I can't "compare" a regular season track record, let me put it this way: I try to learn something from it. As I often do from your intelligent posts, especially when they are going against the "rahrah Denver crushes them for revenge" conventional wisdom.
Cheers.

keep hearing this talk about "should have been two victories." Why is that....Because Melo would have missed a free throw if the foul was called? Because Dallas would have taken care of business in OT?? I don't think so...

Anyone who says "this series should probably be 2-2" either didn't watch the games or doesn't know anything about basketball.
The Nuggets crapped on the Mavs in both Denver games and manhandled them the entire first half of game 3 in Dallas. I know it took a last second (and controversial) shot to give Denver game 3, but the fact is they survived a 3rd quarter surge by Dallas to take a game that they pretty much should have had anyway. If game 3 doesn't end with the officiating fiasco we'd all be focused on how Dallas mailed in the first half and blew a lead in the 2nd half. Mark Wunderlich's non-call is distracting everyone from realizing that Dallas basically choked down the stretch of that game. And besides, even if Wuderlich calls the intentional foul, there's no guarantee that Dallas would have won anyway.
Then there's game 4, which was essentially gifted to the Mavs and where they needed a bunch of bailout calls in the final minute just to cover.
Not only is this game in Denver, but The Birdman is going to fly tonight!

nikos, im sorry but i dont see dallas having any chance in this game. Its not only because its an emotional game but because of denvers defense. Last game i really dont think denver played great D, especially without birdman and they still kept it close and almost winning it. And now they're at home with everyone healthy. I just dont think they want to go back to dallas and they'll come out with such intensity and get the early lead. Thats just my opinion but good luck to everyone. Have a nice day

It started at like 7.5. It's up to -10 because everybody and their grandmama is on the Nuggs. It's not scare away it's to try for some semblance of two-sided action.

Jack - completely disagree sir. The Nuggets didnt crap on the mavs in both games in Denver. And yes, the series should be 2-2. And yes, I do watch basketball, and I do know an awful lot about basketball.
Dont tell me that the mavs were gifted game 4 either. There were tons of bad calls on both sides of the ball. I can remember a call on Antoine Wright late in the 4th (in which the Mavs went on to get ANOTHER tech for arguing). The refereeing was terrible on both sides in game 4. The only Dallas favorable foul that stands out was the last one by K-Mart on Dirk that iced it. I dont know what "bunch of bailout calls" you speak of because Denver got too many calls IMO. 2 flagrants and 4 techs? are you kidding me? Dampier (whom i cant stand) waived his hand and got a tech. It was embarrasing by Steve Javie. He makes me sick and looks like an anorexic Kevin Bacon with bad hair.
