6-1 of L7. Short & Sweet. Too much value on Toronto +6.5 at home for Dr. John to ignore. Blowout loss sets up a nice bounce back scenario for the Raps -- they qualify for a situation that is 76-33-2 ATS.
Tough for Dr. John to see through the nebulous series that is GS-OKC. Likely will not pick a side in the next game (though initial lean is toward OKC -2, without running the numbers). However, the total seems to offer a fair amount of value at 221.
2 plays over the next 2 days are:
Raps +6.5 -- 3*
GS-OKC Under 221 -- 3* (hop on this sooner, rather than later)
Will update if OKC proves to qualify as a value play.
As always, see you at the window.

Hey DRJ,
Again, nice post. But what is it that makes you so confident in Toronto and some of these picks you make. Just trying to learn the ropes a little bit and evolve a bit when looking at sports and gambling.

Dr. John has regression equations derived from econometrics and statistical principles. My NBA model (as opposed to NFL model) is far from perfect...nonetheless, it has been far easier to pinpoint the value plays/sides in playoffs vs regular season. That said, it is entirely possible that both of these picks miss. It is really a numbers game (i.e. make enough value plays over the course of the season, and in the long run you should come out in the black, provided you aren't paying too much in juice over your time horizon).

Remember when you bet 40% of your imaginary bankroll on the Jazz -1?
"For some reason, it appears as though Dr. John's previous thread in which he articulated what happened last night/this morning at 4am. So to reiterate:
Dr. John's betting 40% of his bankroll on the Jazz today boys.
Last night...2/3 a 40 of canadian whiskey and 3/4 a gram of blow deep...Dr. John had a vision.
The Archangel Gabriel came to him and said throw your (surprisingly accurate to date) model out the window for tomorrow, and take the Jazz @ -1 or better for 40% of your money.
Dr. John is not one to stand in the way of destiny. Jazz today is the play boys.
Update: In the time since this was initially posted, the line has gone to Jazz -1.5 in most places. Perhaps the sharps got wind of Dr. John's prophecy."

Dr. John has acknowledged on multiple occasions now that he has had his highs and lows, typically involving drug and alcohol binges. What's your excuse for being a trash capper?

Dr. John lost when he deviated from his model. If anything, this would be a backhanded compliment...not sure why you feel the need to come into my thread to rehash this occurrence. Unless you're looking for attention or attempting to compensate for some sort of inability.

PapaShango says he is too busy with your mom, usually involving drugs and alcohol as well. Good luck on your wagers.

Nope. You're just a clown trying to be a tout that wants attention, referring to yourself in the 3rd person. It is pretty pathetic. Again, best of luck, though. Hope your syndicate math models work out for you.

Hmm...Dr. John has yet to try and market anything...to the extent of my knowledge. Feel free to contribute meaningful content in my threads, though.

Dr. John's mother has been deceased for north of 15 years.
That notwithstanding, you don't need to be jealous of DRJ's success. You're welcome to tail my picks, as is anyone else.
Sorry about your mother. I was obviously joking, but no thank you. I would not like to tail your picks or anyone else's picks. But, if you don't know why people think your a schmuck, you are delusional.

That's fine. Akin to the students that I formerly taught, if I were to expect that the entire class were to attend every class and score A's on every test, I'd be delusional. It is called a normal bell curve distribution for a reason, just like the people you will meet in life!

I believe the Craptors win game 6 and if they lose the points won't be enough. So it makes sense to me to take the money line. I really do believe this thing is scripted somehow to make it back to Cleveland for game 7.

I thought you are 7-0 after gsw -7 and over 219.5 . Did you change the over to under at some point ? Because you were 4-0 and cle under 198 won gsw -7 won over 219.5 won should be 7-0 yes ?

Why the problem with the good doctor's 3rd person schtick? It's certainly more entertaining than the cliche internet tough guy/hater routine. Dude's on a heater. If you want to contribute then do so. If you don't then don't. Not that complicated. Besides, he sounds like a smart guy. Maybe there is something to be learned from him...

wouldn't it be scripted for Cavs to win handily tonight to close out series and rest while GS/OKC battle 7 games thus giving advantage to a rested Cavs team no matter who they face and bring the Championship to Cleveland which was the overall script when Bron left Mia 2 years ago? I cannot see them handing a Championship to Durant as he's on the way out of OKC, that doesn't feel right and I can't imagine they hand Championship to Ws who already have the 73 wins thing and MVP, that's too much hardware on the left coast. Seems like it all plays into Cleveland's hands and the futures odd with Cavs at +110 says so too. That way Ws are happy and can claim injury kept them from achieving but still are the darling as they move to new arena in San Francisco, OKC gets their props as Durant exits stage left and LeBron remains the face of the league and media eats it up as he's the guy to win Championship in Miami and Cleveland and they interview Wade effusively twittering congratulations to him for 48 hours straight and the city of Cleveland finally can exhale.
