Amare on the verge of accepting a 100 mil deal from the Knicks!!!

The Knicks are going to be regretting this move unless they can get Lebron cause they are 100% not winning the east with Amare unless Wade or Lebron is teamed up with him.  He cant carry a team and his stats will go down a bit w/o nash feeding him easy baskets.  Only positive thing is that he is playing for his old coach in D'Antoni so he will be familiar with the playing style and there is always a lot of offense on a D'Antoni team.

Anything is better than the current cast of characters on this team

Im not talking about the d league...... the contract has nothing to do with this there are great defensive players that never get contracts like that one. but in terms of starters: david lee, carlos boozer, Zach Randolph, Andrea Bargnani, brad miller, Dirk Nowitzki, Kris Humphries, Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge.

all of those guys are on the same level or worse defensively as amare.

you are correct, amare is he wasnt lazy should be a good or great defensive player but he just doesnt care. The opposing big men put up big numbers on amare, amares rebounding numbers are inflated in the suns system and cause he plays the center spot. He is a poor rebounder..

You guys are all missing the point here.

This is more about the Knicks desperately trying to get LeBron or D-Wade.

There is no chance in hell either player would consider the Knicks unless they made some sort of move.

Now i still think there is no way the Knicks get either player, but this signing was only done for that reason.

Also if the Knicks got shut out completly the fans in my area would flip out, we have been sitting by for 3 seasons basically throwing those years away for this summer. And if they walked away with NOTHING the backlash would be enormous.

So you have to look at it from the Knicks point of view, was it a great signing? Of course not. But if it in any way helps their chances of getting James or Wade it was worth the gamble because they could not sit back and do nothing.

if the knicks arent gonna resign david lee, its a stupid move. if they get both players then it makes sence having two big men that can play down low is what the knicks need , i dont think knicks will get wade or lebron, i wouldnt mind richard jefferson coming, hes almost on the superstar level which means cheaper, so maybe they can resign al harrington a big man that can handle the ball, then knicks would be nice,
