Did you know that...I think it was in 2010...LBJ had sent a picture on Instagram of a young MJ trying to guard him? This is before he won any Championship, he did that. The arrogance that he displayed in the past was just so...*smh* What if Kyle Korver Instagramed a picture of himself during the regular season shooting a 3-pointer over MJ (when KK was 60% on the 3-point line)? What if Steph Curry Instagramed a picture of himself breaking MJ's ankles on the court, because he had a highlight of him doing that to CP3 on ESPN during the regular season? It's things like that that screams, "Call me the bad guy, PLEASE!" He went back to Cleveland, and he took the number 23 AGAIN. There's almost no degree of humility shown to the public, just seems like a snubbed nose up to everyone else in the league, not just MJ.
Just my perception...
okay,we have to agree to disagree then....as you say,its all perception and my view of lebron thru media/interviews and such is that hes one of the more like-able,grounded,least arrogant mega-stars of the modern age..he seems a whooole lot more human and honest than most of these egomaniacs running around.
and as for kobe, well as a person he has always, always come across as a cocky,self-important,disingenuous blow-hard.....its in the eye of the beholder i guess.

Just to play devil's advocate for a moment...he won 2 more rings when the Lakers were going through somewhat of a rebuilding process. Can you name me ONE other superstar on any of those 2 championship rings Lakers teams? It was an older Kobe, he stuck with the franchise, and lead a group of rag-tag players around him to 2 more rings. It's that thing of "staying put" and working with the tools that are given that helps in the argument of "Kobe's up *here*, and LBJ is down *there*" type of talk. But again, *PUBLIC PERCEPTION*. It's just how the masses of fans perceive you...
he had a very good supporting cast around him in those years,DEFINITELY not a rag-tag scrub group like that which lebron led to the finals in cleveland.....kobe wasnt past his prime at that stage,he was at nearly the peak of his powers and he had a highly skilled all star big man in pau gasol,a versatile do-everything guy in lamar odom, fairly dominant young centre(wen healthy) in andrew bynum, ron artest on the downside of his career but still capable of contributing, clutch role playing point guard derek fisher and decent defender/shooter in trevor ariza.....that my friend is a better than average group and remember they only had to beat the weak-as.s orlando magic in one of those years...beating the celtics was a great effort and they only just scraped by but credit to kobe for that.
and to say he always stuck by his team and was willing to stay in the one place thru thick and thin no matter wat??...well,thats simply untrue.in tough times kobe made multiple trade demands both publicly and privately and wud have left without any shadow of a doubt had he not gotten the help necessary wen they pulled that heist to nab gasol, then artest as well.

This debate will be answered in a couple of weeks. If Lebron wants to prove his is an All time Great next to MJ, then he will lead the cavs to a title. If not, he will be 2 for 6 in the finals and not sure how anyone can say he is a better all time great than Kobe.
He could get swept in the finals by an average of 50 points, retire the next day, and it still would not be a debate.
You guys are blinded by your emotions, plain and simple.

there are not enuff words in the english language to describe how retarded the premise of this post is....but i'll give it a go.
first of all you think the guys greatness shud be judged on one performance or series only??after the hundreds of games and accomplishments hes had/been involved in and will continue to do so in the future,it all boils down to this finals coming up??
and you also think that one single player can determine the outcme of a series single-handedly??...so,no matter wat lebron does its his fault if they lose,rite??..........every player thats ever played has needed help.hell, even jordan needed help...not much, but still.....again,a simplistic american i assume??..trying to boil everything down to its most simplistic way of understanding for your own benefit.....championship=good
no championship=bad
either way its determined completely by wat lebron does.......huh?
