to say that when u pick a game laying DD = disaster , is a worthless comment to me...
I agree. Laying DD's or SD's doesn't matter in the long run! It's whether or not you're on the right side of each bet. DD's favs cover just as much as SD's favs. (and same thing for dogs). It's all about understanding the line, and then finding situations where you have an 'advantage' of covering the spread.

Then why does everyone say that giving DD points is a bad idea? And that you should always bet on getting DD points?
And, are 1H bets on DD favs any better than DD points for FG?
Because you don't really want to get caught up betting DD's favorites too often. There are just a lot of ways you could lose. And long-term 50% is losing. Have to pick your spots, just like with backing DD's dogs, and SD's everything....
As to your other question, again you're generalizing things. You have to assume that DD's favs HT bets hit 50/50 long-term. You have to break down each individual matchup and situation.

Bodio...I got this writeup from another website (Sportswagers.ca)...what are your thoughts on it?
Portland
favored in New Orleans is simply incorrect. For one, the Blazers are
17-21 away from the Rose Garden while the Hornets are an impressive
24-11 at home. Furthermore, four of Portland’s last five games have come
against the Spurs (twice), the Lakers and the Thunder. Those are high
intensity games and it’s worth noting that Portland beat the Spurs both
times. Now the satisfied Blazers will conclude a three game trip in
great shape to make the playoffs. The Blazers are in sixth in the West,
four games ahead of the ninth place Rockets with just eight games
remaining for both. New Orleans is a game behind Portland. The Hornets
have won fove of their past eight with only losses over that stretch
coming against juggernauts, Lakers, Celtics and Nuggets. The last time
Portland was here back in November they lost by 20 but since have beaten
the Hornets twice (they got their revenge already) in Portland. The
venue now switches back to where the Hornets are much more lethal and
they’re in a good scheduling spot too. Play: New Orleans +103 (Risking 2 units).

good luck bodio, i love the picks today. you have some great situations here with the bobcats and the heat.
i also love the nuggets here. isn't there some trend out there if you play a game the night before and then have to go to denver the next night, the road team gets blown out more often than not?
Not sure, but I know situationally it must be really hard to play 5 road games, come home to play a close uptempo game, and then travel to altitude the very next day.

"Traps" -- hehe...that's my favorite
Usually people that don't understand a posted line say a game is a 'trap' game, when in all actuality it really isn't, they just have a predetermined bias towards a particular team

Lol, what I said and traps have nothing to do with eachother. I myself think "trap" games are just square people who take the favs and are surprised when they lose. Either way that has nothing to do with my point. While I am partially joking with the man there is some truth to what I say. I myself have been following him and his picks and I have noticed that after he post the lines do tend to move. Others have also mentioned this its not only me. Maybe it is a cowincidence ( i have no idea how to spell that). Maybe my points are valid. It really dont matter not important just having some fun. But pay attention call me crazy but everytime he post the lines seem to move. I dont know. Enjoy yourself my man and watch out for those traps tonight.

This write-up has a few flaws.
1) First the obvious, Hornets have beaten the Blazers twice this season, not the other way around.
2) If Hornets are only 1 game back of Portland, then this game is even more important for the Blazers. If Hornets win tonight, they will own the tie-breaker (they'll be 3-1 against Portland), and will move into the 6th spot. This is importnat b/c the Lakers will most likely finish 2nd and I'd rather play the Mavs than the Lakers. Portland will be very focused here, since they want to at least split the season series with the Hornets.
3) Hornets have won 5 of 8 eh? How about 3 of the last 6, with 2 of those games against a struggling Suns squad and 1 @ Utah, a game they SHOULD HAVE LOST!. Looking back 8 games is not significant, because big part of this play is the fact that NO is without David West. They're 1-1 without him but his loss is going to be even more visible against a team like the Blazers, who have size and depth.
4) Sure Hornets are 24-11 at home, but against WINNING teams, they are 2-5 there in their last 7 games.
5) The write-up doesn't talk about Hornets' lack of defensive effort lately. That cannot be ignored. All season long, this NO squad has been knowns as being below average offensively but way above average defensively. Now they're playing below average offense AND defense, and are missing their 2nd best player. What's their identity? Without West and without defensive effort, this is a non-playoff team over a course of the whole season. Portland is peaking right now, and I will ALWAYS take my chances with a better team going against a mediocre squad in a virtual PK game.
GOOD LUCK
