I LOVE IT ....I just stared using teasers as I've been watching all these close games in the playoffs ...teasing the road teams up has been HUGE for me as far as turning my playoff season around ..love your play and I jus happen to have a open spot on a 3 teamer that had Washington and GS WHICH ALREADY WON SOME I'm closing IT OUT WITH NJ PLUS 10 !!!!!

Great writeup overall and this is probably a mere throwaway comment, but I thought Teletovich has actually been playing really well. Thornton is a total bum though, for sure.

Would you jump ALL OVER a Nets line of 8 if that was the actual line in a crucial close Game 5?
In a second!
Would you jump ALL OVER a Rockets line of 1 if that was the actual line in a spot where the Rockets MUST win or go home and the Blazers have to go on the road with a comfortable 3-1 lead with a game to spare?
In a second!
You'd be on BOTH anyway with a lot of confidence. The tease puts you on both as well.
I have to say this again: The Rockets ARE NOT the Bulls if you want to compare Game 5's at home. The Bulls need Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy to be their primary offense forces and couldn't even get an offensive rebound last night (a true lay down performance late by the Bulls).
Can the Rockets rebound? Just ask the monster in the paint down low.
Can the Rockets score? The Rockets shooters put Butler and Dunleavy to shame.
Yes, the Blazers are better than the Wizards but not by leaps and bounds and the Rockets are leaps and bounds better than the Bulls on offense that any defensive issues (and there are some) largely cancel out with Portland.
Your logic is flawed though....you can't compare the bulls to Houston and Washington to Portland LOL two totally different dynamics and matchups.
Houston looking to game 6 only shows me their bigger losers than they lead on....you're down 3-1 loosing 2 at home and Portland with a better road record....give me the blazers value all day.

I know the league wants these stars to stick around for another game or two, but I hope the Rockets aren't treating game 5 as a given. These late-game JV mistakes really grind my gears!
Once again, I'm along for the ride. Thanks, scalabrine.

Instead rockets ml take portland +8,5 tease.. much less stress.. if rockets going to win, it's not easy one.. it's a playoff and they have every game must win situation..
Exactly! It's playoffs! There's no blowout here with a team like Blazers that took 2 home games away from Rockets.

Not an English major (no money $$$$$ for an English major in the 2014 job market unfortunately) but it is still necessary for people to preserve that line of study by majoring in it, so I commend anyone who does.
All you need to do for these posts is create an outline and the content flows so much smoother throughout.
The outline is the key, and then the writing ability obviously comes into play.
But most guys don't want to create an outline for a post on covers.
They don't realize how much better their write-ups will be using one, and how many people will have an easier time digesting the post itself.
Tell me about it, Scal. I'm a desperate man these days. Like the write-up and totally agree. I'm willing to bet 300, as I just can't trust anything NBA these days. If I was smart I'd wait for football (much easier in my opinion). The NBA used to be easy (especially the playoffs) but I get the feeling that Silver is trying to change the culture of the league, and it starts with officiating. It is unfathomable to me (because I've never see it before) that a team with two of the biggest stars in the game not only can't buy a foul but when they do the official freezes the shooter and changes, not only the course of the series, but maybe the course of the entire playoffs! When an ML bet on the Clips and OKC (playing at home) goes up in flames, how can I trust the Rockets or the Nets?

@peewee - Rockets don't need to defend to blow anyone out. And who needs a blowout. We teased this to a virtual ML.
@jriv
@benigno - Appreciate that!
@dope- thanks! Don't worry about Ross. He has been a total no-show the whole series. And even if he shows up, we get 8 in a game that should be a nail biter.
@stack - and the teaser doesn't pay the same amount as a straight bet???? If it does, what is your point?

Big write up means BIG LOSE...Raptor s r young and this series is a heavy weight fight I think the nets legs get tired and r aptors knock out in 4 th qu

@johnny - he has, he has. I was saying it with regards to needing him again tonight.
@vaas - thanks vaas. The bulls are not the rockets! With a 'lol' as you typed it.
Let me tell you how I write things up.
I anticipate questions and comments.
Last night, one of the best cappers on the site was on the bulls laying 4. The bulls are in same position as the rockets - at home in a close out game 5.
Even with the bulls flaccid offense, they still were within 3 with under a minute left and if not for 50 offensive rebounds by the wiz, might have sent that game to OT.
Now the rockets are exponentially better on offense than the bulls (much worse on D but this is an offense vs. offense matchup) and I can assure you, Howard would NOT allow what happened underneath that Wizards basket happen to the rockets.
So the point in mentioning the Bulls is that posters are rightfully skittish to back the Rockets the very next night in a very similar spot to the Bulls. But there is so much more offensively to bail them out in addition to having Howard underneath (not to be overlooked), I believe they will win.
And, we are only laying a single point. You see, you can compare two teams in similar spots without necessarily comparing them directly and I said that with regard to the 21,000 posters who read LC's thread thinking about the Bulls, posters who are now here reading this.

@club - what's wrong with a teaser? They hand you the exact same amount of money when the games are over if you are right in comparison with a straight bet.
@full - even with all the mistakes, they could be UP 3-1 Which strengthens this spot.
@andder- too many teams IMO. 2 is all I can handle.

@jail @new- no because they are up 3-1. If it were 2-2, yes. Knocking out a team on its home floor is incredibly hard, especially a team with this much talent offensively.
I thought the bulls played AWFUL last night and they still were within 3 with under a minute, refusing to die. Imagine if they had Harden Howard or Parsons to defer to instead of Hinrich and Butler!
@risk - always a pleasure risk
@bb - oh boy, you were an English major?? Well, it explains the clarity and completeness in your writing.
If there is one thing I learned in the 2014 playoffs it's this: No ML, no matter how prodigious the team, is safe. And parlaying them only makes it worse. Even the sides can kill ya. Next step? Teasing can temper the live wires that are these games.
And I think the NFL lines are the sharpest in the biz.
@tag - you do know ALL my write ups are big right? And I'm not a loser this year of you read even the first line of my OP (which I doubt you did).

One of the main reasons I teased this bet is because Pat Beverly has a fever. He also bangs knees with LA in Game 1 so he's lost a step.
Who does he guard? Lillard.
That is an issue and that is why Lillard, who he disrupted all year, is having big games.
Who is Beverly's backup? Lin. I don't have to tell you about Lin.
So this post would have been Rockets -5.5 SU if not for Patrick and his issues. But the tease will get it done. That's why we teased it with the Nets who are getting a ton of points in a very close matchup.

Scal, what do you think of the Spurs today? I have them in a series parlay with the Clips. If they lose today I'll miss out on my opportunity to hedge but if I hedge (even at +350) I lose half the profit I stand to make if they and the Clips win their series? This series has become a dogfight and Dallas isn't going anywhere.

@BB - the spurs will win the series so I wouldn't hedge although 0-4 ATS, my god. Eventually, the Spurs will come to and they are among the only teams in the league along with the Heat you can count in to do so.
I'd be more concerned about the Nets tonight in your SA/LA/NJ parlay because this game will determine who wins the series IMO (not so in the Spurs series even if they somehow dropped tonight's game).
I can so see Dallas fans cursing the name of ex-spur Dejaun Blair for losing this series for them for all eternity with the Chun Li head kick to Tiago.
