Bulls Could Have Won Title Without Jordan

That's how good they were. A lot of people forget that when Jordan retired, the Bulls were still a top 4 team. Obviously, you do not lose the greatest player ever and get better...but Pippen/Kukoc were matchup nightmares regardless...and the Bulls could have even won it that year, but it didn't happen...In part, because of Mr.Hollins..against New York...

Could the Lakers have won it w/o Kobe when they won it 3 years in a row (kobes first 3 titles)   Lets not forget Kobe did not win MVP in any of those championships...  So if u can say Bulls could of won w/o Jordan who won the MVP each time i think, safe to say that Lakers could of won w/o Kobe those early years??

trouble is, when Jordan left for two years, the Bulls didn't win the championship....... and once he came back, they did, 3 more times.......

so the only real evidence you can use in this argument, works against you......

Its a very valid point. It was pippens team for a couple years but came up short so that theory is never talked about. Also Pippen choked in 2000 up double digits in the 4th of game 7 so that kills the argument.

MJ was the undisputed leader of that team and te KING of te league and was voted te greatest athlete of all time.

He clearly was the reason they won.

30 ppg....led the league in steals 3 seasons....defensive player of year award...reg season mvps.....finals mvps.....etc..etc..etc...

and some (you) think they could of won it all without him on the court?

Oh, did I mention that he was voted the greatest athlete of all time (over the last 100 years).

I didn't say 6 titles, just 1 title.. If you think the Bulls didn't have a chance to win the title the year after Jordan left, then you must not have watched basketball that season...That team did come up short, but they had a legit shot at the title. Anyone who says they didn't just does not know the game....That being said, Jordan was clearly the greatest player of all-time...

Bulls lost in game 7 of the conference finals to the Knicks.  So yes, that does mean they had a very, very good team even without Jordan, BUT I believe this is the first year they had Kokuc.   They lost jordan, but added Kukoc, so you can't really say it is the "same bulls team" as the 3-peat teams.

The next year, jordan returned, but they could not overcome the loss of hoarce grant and other key players, so you can't really consider this year as part of this discussion, as it was not the same team as the 1st 3-peat, and before the bulls re-tooled to win their second 3-peat.

bulls would have won 8 in a row if jordan didnt retire. Im certain of that. No disrespect to the rockets but they werent as good

Although Kobe was not the best player in the team during that championship 3 peat there is no way the Lakers would have won those titles without him, especially the last 2.

...and the Golden State Warriors COULD HAVE won the championship IF they did not lose any games at all.

It is apparent usasurfer and whodey were not around for that season. Let me fill you two guys in... The Bulls went 55-27, last season in Chicago Stadium, good enough for the third best record in the Eastern Conference without Jordan...Took the Knicks to 7 in the second round...a team that went to the Finals...The Bulls did not win it all without Jordan, but that had a legit chance to do so...Whoever thinks otherwise did not watch the Bulls that season..(I'm assuming usasurfer and whodey did not)         
If Jordan stays the whole time, there is no question they win eight in a row Osirus!

I agree Jake. 

MJ is already considered the best of all time....but had he not left the Bulls title run would have rivaled what Red Auerbach and Bill Russell Celtics did in the 1960's.

They would of been in the Finals 8 yrs in a row....and won it 8 yrs in a row...and MJ would of had 8 consecutive NBA Finals MVPs.

It depends on what you mean by legitimate chance. I don't think those Bulls were any better than this year's Jazz or Suns. That doesn't mean they weren't very good, but I don't think anyone was surprised when they didn't make the finals.

I remember the Bulls/Knicks playoff series that year very well.5 of the 7 games could have gone either way, and that Knicks team went to the Finals as I said..The East that year had some really good teams, just not a pure dominating team..this helped open the door for the Jordanless Bulls...and the lack of a truly dominating team in the East opened the door for any one of about 4 teams in the East that year...That's why they at a legit chance to make the Finals..at the very least...

The Bulls were tied for 6th best record in 1993-1994 but in the 1994-1995 season, the bulls were barely .500 before Jordan came back and they immediately won 8 straight
