best of 7 who wins this? For me this game today against the Spurs just showcases what an absolute gun team they are and yes it's history but it should have been their championship last year, give us a fit Rondo in that series and it's another ring. But this win will mean far more than just another top team getting toppled by the almighty Celtics, I mean no GarnettSpurs tried their absolute hardest but in the end the superior talent won it. How many times has Pierce and Allen hit clutch shot after shot. Unreal and if they did meet the Heat in the playoffs

I really thought they'd win the east last year, but BOS just dismantled them ruthlessly in games 1,2 and 3......then went into cruise control in games 4 and 5 to let ORL get it back to 3-2...but then when it came to the crunch.....BOS reasserted their authority in game 6....
ORL has made a few trades , but i just don't think they can manufacture the kind of chemistry in 1 year that BOS has over the last 3 years....BOS are just too battle hardened....
where is the toughness in ORL ? in Australia,..there's a horse race called the Cox plate....only the toughest, battle hardened proven horses that handle the pressure win this race...pretenders always get found out in this race....
the NBA 7 game finals series are the equivalent of this race.... when the pressure goes on....some have the toughness,..some don't
picture it..if ORL get to the last minute of a crucial game...and Dwight Howard gets fouled...do you really trust him to land both FT's ?
ORL needed a KG-free BOS in the 08/09 finals to get through the east...but an injury free BOS blasted them in the 09/10 finals
Offensively ORL have improved ,..not sure about defensively........
and i don't think BOS have regressed this year...if anything , they look a little more polished and hardened...
MIA clearly has more upside than ORL do.
they are the diamond in the rough.... if they get their rhythm flowing.....then the BOS /MIA eastern conference finals will be one hell of a series...
to be honest .....the NBA championship will be a let down...i just think the western conference , no matter who wins it,...SAN , LAL, DAL ( ha don't make me laugh) won't be able to mix it with the east this year.
i always have a soft spot for BOS ...and won't begrudge them winning it...this may be their last chance...
but let's face facts....the MIA Heat are the future...if not this year...you can bet your ass it'll be at least 3 of the next 5 years.
ORL would need some serious injuries to BOS and MIA if they have any dreams of attaining NBA glory........
unless they know a few NBA versions of Tonya Harding/ Jeff Gillooly ( was that his name ? ) , they'll be on holidays in late May / early June.

enjoyed that read vapor couldn't have said it any better. Boston certainly are that hardened team that takes most others years to reach. The loss last season may have added more fuel to the belly and Rondo certainly has to be one of the top 3 point guards in the NBA along with Rose and Wade. Their bench is also solid and Nate Robinson looks to have been a very handy aquisition in giving Rondo rest while putting up honorable numbers. Lakers will ripen at some point this season like they were travelling at the start of the season but they are not working as a team and their bench is really struggling this season.

I doubt Shannon Brown will ever be a very good player rather an average player. If his dunk contest in 2010 slam dunk weekend was anything to go by, I don't think he's good the intelligence on the basketball court (maybe in general) to become another Kobe-esque type player.

If Boston has a starting five of Rondo/Allen/Pierce/KG/Perkins and two out of Shaq/Baby/Nate are available off the bench come playoff time, no team in this year's NBA can beat them in a seven game series. Miami would lose in six with home court and LA would probably lose in five or six as well.

Heat EASILY. Boston without GArnett isn't better than Raptors
Good one.
If the Celtics are 100% healthy going into the playoffs...they WILL cruise to the Finals. Here's why....
DEPTH.
How many teams in the NBA do you think would be somewhat happy with the following lineup....
Nate Robinson Delonte West Glen Davis Jermaine O'Neal Shaquille O'Neal
Those are the Celtics BACKUPS. Throw in Semih Erden in there as well who has done a reasonably solid job down low...Avery Bradley who is a defensive stopper (no clue on offense however) and the Celtics have by far the deepest team in the NBA. That's where teams like the Magic and Heat just get absolutely blown away.
The Magic NEED another big man to even think about contending with the Celtics. Why? Because Kendrick Perkins knows how to make Dwight Howard his bitch. Nobody in the league defends Howard as well as Perkins...and even Howard himself admitted that. Adding Arenas, Richardson, and Turkoglu certainly adds some great depth to the Magic...but against a team like the Celtics it starts and ends with the big men. IMO...the guard play is a wash with Rondo, Allen, Pierce vs. Nelson, Richardson, Turkoglu. Healthy Celtics have too much size for the Magic. What if the C's put out a lineup of Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, J. O'Neal, and Perkins? You have some big time mismatches.
As far as the Heat go...they are the biggest threat to the Celtics. Where the Heat will inevitably struggle against the Celtics is the opposite of the Magic. They can't handle Rajon Rondo. They know they can't handle Rajon Rondo. He can penetrate and kick at will. They will also struggle against the big guys down low...because Ilgauskas is slow as molasses. But when the Heat are clicking (and we've seen them click in the past month) they are the best team in the NBA in terms of pure talent. When you have two guys on the court that can get anywhere they want, against anyone guarding, at any time of the game...that is a dangerous mixture. I am far more afraid of the Heat at this point than the Magic.

Last year noone beleaved that Boston can go to the finals and this year everyone talking about them winning it all? They had a good start , but come on... wait for a minute , at one point it ussually turns around , its hard to be consistant whole season..
I think Heat is going to win East , because of their defense and indvidually strong trio , if they can defend like this i dont know what can stop them? Because James and Wade for sure can find ways to score at any time and Bosh is a great jumpshooter so you really cant do much if all 3 are sharing the ball and playing with confidence.
And also having Wade and Lebron means at any time in the series one of them can go for 40 points and unfairly , solely beat you , leaving you thinking that even after a A game you played you still lost ..
Would love to see Heat not winning , but this team is just insane.

Tomas, remember the old Hack-A-Shaq defense when he was dominating in Orlando? They may not shoot free throws like Shaq, but they can be worn down by a deeper bench. They cannot all play 48 minutes a game, a hard nosed team can and will wear them down.
I agree they have lived up to the hype since the coaching controversy (that really jelled this team together). I still suggest, objectively, that Boston is the better team from top to bottom.
I know from watching the Raptors being from T.O that Bosh can be a great player if he is the first option, I still say (since I have from day 1) over time this sharing of duties will implode on them. Bosh has accepted his place and has become alot more comfortable not being the go-to guy, but for how long will he accept this? One playoff loss I presume...Boston can deliver this...
