eh,im not so sure of that friction thing...they both make no secret whatsoever of being best friends off the court in real life and nothing contrary has come up so youre just reading too much into it probably.
as for everyone saying "its different this year, its different this year, raptors are different",question is how do ya really tell??i personally felt they might be ready to turn the corner also, but not enough to bet on it...but regardless,is there any real way for us bettors to predict the reversal of a long-term trend such as this that highly likely has a large psychological element to it??short of talking to raptors players therapists what can we do,we're totally guessing, right??
cos when you look at the cold, hard facts there is ZERO to suggest that they are actually "different" this season...they were very, very good in the 82 game sched,as they always are...but then thats never been their problem, its always flaming out in the playoffs over and over again to the point where it MUST be partly mental at least....i mean we get derozan in the post game presser after a series loss basically saying they will always lose so long as the other team has lebron and toronto has lost to lesser teams than themselves as well.........no point in pointing out what a big jump they took this year in so many statistical categories and how great their bench is because, once again, its in the REGULAR SEASON.thats not the issue..everything they achieved and all the players that achieved it still hasnt been proven on the stage that matters.
again,i liked their chances like alot of people in here (and the series aint over yet so i dont mean to insinuate any finality just yet),but the bigger question for all of us is how do we recognise the end of a pattern such as this,is it just a matter of "well, about now feels right!!"???...in the nba it seems you just dont bet against a historically transendent player perhaps??i mean eventually they all lose at some point but you would have lost a shi..t-tonne of money over the years betting against jordan,lebron,kobe/shaq in waiting for them to fall..
They kind of remind me of that great Cavs team in the past, with (Ron Harper, Mark Price, Brad Daugherty and Larry Nance) that Jordan owned. They have the talent but not the balls/mental fortitude it takes to break through and go all the way. But that cavs team was better than the raptors, imo.

LC, you should know that only a small percentage of sports bettors win and even fewer win long term. Many fledgling sports bettors are very cocky which leads to them losing their bankrolls and trolling the select few that actually know what they are doing.
If you are a great capper on here, you are going to get trolls. I've been following you for years and trolls (most likely broke ass bookies) have been around every great cappers posts.
Ignore them and keep doing what you do. I look forward to seeing your insight every day and would hate to see you stop posting again because of these useless trolls.

yep, nice comparison...i can see that...very,very solid team without quite the mega-watt star power to get over that hump....im sure there were more than a few folk in those days that thought they could eventually overcome jordan and/or pistons with solid team play all around and remember at that time jordan wasnt "JORDAN" yet..he built his reputation as an unbeatable, immovable monster on the back of victories over teams such as those cavs

Poeltl. Lol. The Raptors are not the choking Raptors because they have Poeltl on the bench this year. Why the Raptors kept Derozan and Lowry together after what happens every year, I will never know. The worst part is I will have to watch these guys choke again next year. Yuck. Sorry to anyone who put money on these guys. You should be given a free one on this. Any bet placed in favor of the Raptors should be refunded. I bet(Toronto) on the 1st quarter of the first game and got the hell out!

At least Lowry was out there and playing decently. Derozan was just sitting on the bench choking. Embarassing. He should have demanded to get back in the game. You’re down 0-2 with series on the line in the final minutes and you’re on the bench? Terrible.

I would say “Break this Raptors team up” but after Lebron goes to the Lakers (Philly forget it, he wants the bright lights and good weather to end his career), Derozan and Lowry actually have a shot to win the East!
Oh wait, no they don’t. Hayward and Kyrie are coming back.
Ok break them up. It’s over. Blow this shi* up. Same ol Raptors.

Scal, I think there is something enjoyable (perhaps even cathartic) in watching a team that can never overcome a psychological hurdle, just as it is enjoyable to see a team overcome one. It is a microcosm of people's lives. Some people are able to overcome their psychological demons/obstacles and succeed, while others remain stuck forever...Gamblers should know that feeling better than anyone.

Toronto will win 4 straight games to rewrite history. POS Cavs was lucky the last 3 games. Toronto will win game 4 and 5 at home. POS Cavs will get nervous and lose game 6 at home. The series will start all over you idiots who think that the series is over.

a ncie takeaway from this (in a humanities respect), is most folks are supportive and realie you cant win all the bets you make. Like any aspect of life there will always be the weak crab trying to pull its way out the bucket by attacking someone with a name. BOL on the next ones man, been following you many years and will continue to do so
