Barako Bulls +2.0 vs Meralco Bolts 176.0
With Jonas Villanueva back in the fold, Barako Bulls is just as deadly as when they started anew in the league. It's his presence that is very valuable to the team who checks the pace and plays very well with Josh Urbiztondo. Barako Bulls leads the league in 3-points made per game and is shooting 38% as a team. They are amidst the top in the least number of turnovers per game and has been the most dangerous team come the payoff period (even better when the game is close). Meralco has been playing stellar playing almost any team pretty close. 2 of their Ws are by one solitary point and losing to Petron and Alaska by 2 and 4 respectively. They play up to their competition as they parade a monster of an import in Eric Dawson. Dawson is up there with the likes of Dunigan and Balkman who averages 26ppg, 16rpg, 3spg and 3 bpg. Allowing Chris Ross, who's averaging career highs in Mpg, Rpg, Apg, and Spg this conference, to fly under the radar. He's been effectively defending his counterparts and pacing this team.
May take is that Meralco edges Barako Bulls but not in another close contest. I think Meralco will play terrific defensive basketball again. Barako Bulls is a jump shooting team and Meralco is one of the best team in defending the perimeter.

Rain or Shine vs Talk N Text +3.0 178.5
Donnel Harvey obviously needed a couple more days to adjust. He's their former import but he arrived to play under a new coach not to mention it was an out of town game. Rain or Shine is cruising after their opening day defeat. Winners of their last 5 games, they've flirted with a couple of close games but ultimately managed to get to where they are now. A real coin flip as both teams have enough firepower to destroy each other. Rain or Shine have revenge on their mind as they are 0-5 last conference against the Texters. The difference in this scenario is that the Painters have improved tramendously with Lee and Tiu healthy and getting enough production from Sundov. The Texters have regressed for quite a bit after trying to find an import that would be a good match. Donnel Harvey has been a perfect match but I doubt we'd see the same as last conference. I'm holding out on the play here but right now my lean is on the Painters only because they've managed to close their gap from last conference.
