NBA Record: 5-7

I'll keep this short because the Knicks are not worth my time or energy.

Guys here said, "Scal, go back to being selective. Only post once in a while. That's what brought success last year."

I've posted more, but not with the Knicks. Last year I played 10 Knicks games and went 8-2.

This year I've played them twice:

Once vs. the Hornets when the Knicks were 1-1:

I lost that game when the Knicks gave up a 15 pt. lead and Melo blew a free-throw with .1 to get over the 3.5 spread. 96-93 final. Right side, wrong result.

The second game I played was against the T-Wolves. The Wolves blew them out. This is a team that just got 14.5 AT HOME vs. the Warriors. I don't care who you play. Getting 14.5 at home from anyone is insanity. Sixers lines, a team that is one of the worst in history, have not gotten that high at home this year. The Wolves stink and they blew the Knicks out. Awful pick on my part.

I HAVE been selective with the team I know best. And tonight we select them.

But now we have reached critical mass.

With a loss to the Blazers the Knicks are now off to their worst start in team history.

Phil Jackson, a guy who is typically mum until he's prodded, just said this on Monday:

They] have all been games that I felt we played competitively and had opportunities to win," Jackson said. "... I like the competitive nature. I think right now we have a loser's mentality because we're not finishing games, so we have to break through that zone and get to that point."

Translation: I'm the team president of a bunch of losers.

This statement went nationwide folks. Not only the Knicks being called losers, they are losers. And if they are not careful, they may be the worst team in basketball in the next few games.

You're off to your worst start ever and here are the teams that are up next after the Pelicans:

If you can't beat the T-Wolves, who can you beat? Are there one or two wins there? I can't even say yes!

Get off the schneid and beat the below .500 Pelicans and end be winners, for one night at least. Pelicans are no easy task but are easier than the Cavs in a revenge spot and the Blazers.

2. Knicks are starting to cover ATS

Give the Knicks a number and they won't win, but they will get inside of it of late.

In their last three they got 6, 4.5, and 7.5 vs. the Blazers, Hornets, and Cavs respectively.

I was impressed with the Knicks in all three losses.

The Blazers are one of the best in the West and the Knicks lead with 3 minutes left.

The Hornets were on a huge 10 game losing streak and were finally at home against a very beatable team and fully embraced the "If ya can't beat the lousy Knicks, who can ya beat". They jumped out 20 point lead. The Knicks came all the way back to take a one point lead with 4 seconds and a Kemba Walker tear drop shot with 0.0 did them in. Nice comeback without a win to show for it.

The Cavs were avenging their most embarrassing loss of the season and the Knicks were within 1 pt. for the last 3 minutes before shooting the game away (and that was with Melo having an awful 4-19 9 pt night which is about as bad as it will ever get for Melo).

Those were three tough games against the Cavs who are now surging and one of the best out West along with a tough spot against a team on a big losing streak of their own at home.

I gotta trust the Knicks here.

Aldridge got his 24 and 11 last night and the Knicks still almost won it. Portland is the best rebounding team in the league and the Knicks hung with the.

3. SEVEN

Not the movie, the spread tonight.

They are coming back from big deficits and then failing down the stretch, shooting themselves away, but not bad enough to fall outside the number.

That is why this line is attractive.

Amare finally looks like he's 65%/70% of his 'old' (Knicks first year) self averaging 16 and 10 over his last 6.  That's A LOT given I thought he was completely done.

There is major desperation when Amare starts putting up numbers on his bum knees.

When the Knicks have come back from the holes they were in of late it is because they moved away from the triangle.

I have no proof of this, but now that the team has secured the worst record in team history, now that Phil has called them losers publicly, and hinted that Fisher hasn't been doing all that good a job, I have to think Fisher allows the team to play less triangle tonight. Less triangle = more offense=higher comfort level=getting inside the number.

Fisher has constantly stressed 'growing pains' with the Triangle. But my god, it has gone beyond that to a growing abscess on the Knicks logo if they keep losing.

He was quoted today:

I really think the Knicks have to have this one so I am taking the points and dropping some on the ML. Yes Davis will score. Who doesn't he score against? But the Knicks have to snap an 8 game losing streak and get out of this worst start in history hole that gets deeper with ever loss. Pelicans are coming off a blowout of the Lakers and may overlook the Knicks a bit thinking they are equally bad (they aren't, the Lakers are worse in many ways).

Even though units won't count towards my record, because I think the Knicks can pull one out here, we'll go spread and some on the ML. If they get blown out, I have no idea what to say.
