These are the results of the last 9 times the Warriors lost 2 straight games in the playoffs (essentially the Curry era)

SU Record in the 1st game after 2-straight playoff losses:  8-1

Combined record for next 2 games after 2-straight playoff losses:  14-3

Average score if 1st game is at home:  110-97  (5 out of 6 opponents held below 100 pts)

Steve Kerr’s record when trailing in a playoff series:  18-6 (best all time)

In 6 out of 9 times that the Warriors lost 2-straight in the playoffs, they won the next 2 games in the series.

Incidentally, they went on to win the next 3 games in the series on 4 of those 9 occasions.

This could be a thesis paper on Ancient History. I learned a lot. I didn't learn anything I can use going forward because the aging Warriors' best days are behind them, but nevertheless I learned a lot.

I guess they've aged since round 1, which was the last time they did this.

2014 was the last time the Warriors lost a Western Conference Playoff series ... I think the Warriors win tonight though.. 

3 straight wins vs the Lakers will be hard..

How many of these were ATS wins or losses? They may win tonight but will they cover the -7? I am not a fan of -320 money line (current odds on FD)

Yea, I didn't really want to check the ATS, because that site didn't list those numbers... but the average win if the next next game was at home was 13 ppg. It's honestly not meant to be betting advice, but I'll be surprised if they don't win game 5 comfortably.  Beyond that, it'll be tough to get the last 2, but would be cool to see a game 7, that's for sure!

I don't think what Duderonomy posted is nonsense. I like looking back to past results to look for patterns, and I like to see information presented in the way he posted it, but in this case I think looking back almost a full decade is too long. Curry, Thompson, and Green were in their 20s while they were recording much of that glorious playoff history.

Except that the "Warriors of old" are on this list for similar situations... such as the 2016 Warriors, who lost 2 straight games at OKC to fall behind 3-1, then won game 5 at home, game 6 on the road, and game 7 at home.

The Warriors are looking good tonight. This is a great Draymond game. He’s got his bag of tricks but he’s playing with the energy of a young pup. That’s what reminded me of this thread.

Doesn’t feel like the Warriors are gonna lose Game 6, does it? I’d be as surprised to see that as I was to see them come up short in Game 4.

We'll see... I think it all comes down to making shots. Warriors have been way off the mark on 3-pointers throughout the series, and if they start to get closer to the norm, the Lakers could have a problem. Also think the wear and tear on AD and Lebron will be something to watch. Lebron with 40+ minutes two games in a row... AD close to that. I felt like that was a key for the Warriors in this series, but this will be the first game that both those guys played heavy minutes back-to-back.

Warriors have figured out the lineup that creates matchup problems, so now it just comes down to execution.

I'd say game 6 is a coinflip, and most likely, if the Warriors win game 6, they'll win this series.

Footnote:  I have bets on the Warriors to win this series and win the title, but I REALLY hope AD is ok for game 6. Don't want to have any excuses or asterisks with this series. Let's see both teams at full strength, and let the best team win.
