Mavs not covering the spread does not equate to...
"all-too-frequent uninspired nature of his team's play in their own building"
This team plays to win and they've done just that. Its most evident when they're trailing at home and they find a way to win in the 4th Quarter. Thats all Mr. Cuban needs at the end of the night.
No, I think he definetely needs more. This is a guy who sits close to the floor at every game and sweats it out from beginning to end. In these last 17 home games that we're talking about, the Mavs have lost 6 times. In every single one of these games except for Wednesday night's win over Golden State, the Mavericks have entered the final minute of play either hopelessly beaten or with the game's outcome still totally up in the air. Do you think Mark Cuban is satisfied with that given all the sub .500 teams they've played? Don't you think he's scratching his head wondering when his team is finally going to let him and the fans enjoy an easy win? I mean, come on, they're supposed to be a top contender in the West and every freaking home game is a life and death struggle! It's ridiculous!

If i was Mark Cuban, all i'm thinkin' about is getting hot at the right time -- the playoffs.
Even if Mr. Cuban knows about the point spreads he could care less how or by what margin his team beats a sub .500 team. The way this guy cheers for every point and frowns on every miscue, he's quite oblivious to the fan sitting 5 rows behind him who has an online betting ticket riding on the home team.
Bettors need to stop enveloping their emotions on the outcome of a game based on the point-spread. The Mavs don't give a f**k about your wager for or against. Nor does Mark Cuban.

Uh, HappyKane, we get that the team doesn't care about pointspreads or gamblers, but nevertheless the horrible performance against the betting line openly exposes the fact that this team very seldom plays hard, and that's a fatal flaw for any team to have. And that's what should be of major concern to Cuban, not your bets or my bets, obviously.

So not true. Sure he doesn't care about covering pointspreads, but I bet he cares a lot when he sees his team's defensive intensity disappear in the middle of a game.

Another money making machine that i have been cashing on is on the New Jersey Nets. Check quarter by quarter bets on them and see what you come up with. Out of 160 plus quarters they have won less than 25.

MrBator, you offered some really great suggestions but I particularly liked this sentence; Even casual followers of this crooked league know that the Dallas Mavericks are a far more formidable force when they play on the road (just ask the horrid Knicks).
It seems he may undermine the credibility of the sports betting profession so consider the following as a possible addendum to your previous reply. State that just like he takes winning championships seriously, you take sports betting equally serious and for added emphasis include some more statistical analysis to garner his respect. Let him know his lack of acknowledgement towards this issue is the equivalent of a sports bettor neglecting situational spots and relevant trends in a given game and it highlights his lack of desire to be the best.(He seems real arrogant, this may spark his fire). Heck, he should offer thanks to you for being a professional sports bettor in the first place and pointing out something he may have overlooked. Afterall, it's usually us sports bettors who pick up on the subtle deficiencies and tendencies of these teams that even those most closely involved with them are oblivious to.
Iterare that the sole intent is to help him in his quest for a title. And well, if in the process, he helps us by improving the team's ATS record, everyone's happy.

Guys Cuban probably has so many computer stat guys giving him every possible stat there is. So am pretty sure he knows exactly how poor his team is playing at home and doesnt need some gambler from vegas giving him advice, especially as arrogant as Cuban is.
Mr Bator should be emailing all the college coaches who let their teams shoot 50 and 60 percent from the line every game. Those are the people who need some serious help.

You would think, right, but you'd be shocked at how blissfully unaware ownership, the front office, and even the coaching staff of a professional sports team can be about some of their own team's specific tendencies.

To tell you the truth I'm very surprised he replied to me at all. I know I wouldn't have. If I were the billionaire owner of an NBA franchise, I might read an e-mail from some gambler, but no way would I give him the time of day, especially if he's basically insulting my team.
Plus, when you're a famous person and you respond to some nobody, you run the risk of having that nobody continue to pester you.
But I agree with what you're saying, Consilience. No question that a few of us lowlifes are entirely capable of offering helpful input to some of these teams.

I'm pretty torn over this entire card. I'm pretty sure I'll just be playing the Rockets +5.5 and stop there. Even with the Kings, I don't know if I'm convinced that the Suns are going to take this team lightly.

Bator, what are we playing tonight?

Apparently Mark Cuban not only read my e-mail, he re-read it, then read it a third time before making his move. The Minnesota/Dallas line just moved a point and a half! Way to go, Mark, ya sneaky bastard!
