Gotta give credit to the responsible cappers/posters who stuck with the pick and the Knicks when they were down 13 at the half, knowing, as we've all said a BILLION times, there are TWO HALVES in an NBA GAME and 4 QUARTERS....

Now onto the game where a poster above asked how did this play out compared to my expectations.
#1 The All-Star Star break greatly helped Hardaway and hurt Melo.
Melo just didn't have the urgency in the first half and neither did the team. If they played even a decent first half they cover easily after a huge third quarter.
Looking back, for Melo, his time away from the team hurt him and apparently, the team was lost without his offense as the starters outside of Melo (even in practice), combined for 28 points.
That being said they had a great second half but a woeful final 45 seconds and every point of the 5.5 (if you got that number) was needed.
Hardaway? Brilliant and his All-Star showing carried over as you'd expect for an up and coming rookie.
This is the problem with ML-ing the Knicks. YOU CANNOT trust them! If that Prigioni three doesn't go in and out at 22 seconds, I see this as a Knicks win in OT. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda...
#2 JR Smith vs. Conley/Gasol/Allen
Gasol was rusty but productive. Conley was MUCH better than expected albeit his shooting night wasn't all that great but he hit everything from the line, and he was the heart and soul, largely as expected (especially when you look at who was guarding him). Allen never made it in the game.
JR Smith- Awful...
But where JR really hurt the team was a HUGE 3 point miss (basically an air ball of sorts) late in the game and then he passed up the tying 3 with 22 seconds because he had ZERO confidence.
He is a problem right now and he was a MAJOR thorn in the side of the Knicks despite their comeback to take 6 point lead late.
Lastly, I don't cap these games to be within 1 pt or .5 pt but I took the points because I know who I am dealing with: a BAD Knicks team that showed everything I expected in the second half and NONE in the first.
How bad are the Knicks and why didn't I post a ML play even though I expected them to win?
Well look at who burnt them in the Kings game:
Jimmer Fredette - small nondescript outside shooter for a career high of 24.
Who burnt them this game?
Mike Miller - tall nondescript (this year at least) outside shooter
who just shot a season high 19 tonight.
You'd think the Knicks would learn in back to back 'must wins'?
THEY DON'T LEARN!
Lastly, and here's the good news. Ryan Anderson, the tall up and coming outside shooter who burnt the Knicks in the 103-99 victory for the Pelicans last time out is not playing due to a back injury. That is a very big deal since the Knicks have proven, tonight and last Wednesday, they cannot guard outside shooters and he was their best one. Fredette and Miller won both games respectively. Anderson would KILL this team if he was playing. He isn't thank god.
Finally, the line is out for the Pelicans game. It is +4 Knicks which is large in my opinion. I can only see it dropping as the public has a huge infatuation with a losing Knicks team.
But how are the Knicks ATS? Remember they were 1-3 in their last 4. Now they are 2-3 (assuming you weren't unlucky to catch the +5 push window tonight) and could be 4-1 or 3-2 ATS if a basket falls here or there as explained in the OP. So what does that mean? They are starting to pay us.
And when they are starting to pay us ATS...
Here is the thing about the Pelicans game.
The Knicks are now a season high 13 games under .500.
They are in the ELEVENTH seed in the East and can drop further.
Here's how bad the Knicks are. The only teams beneath them are Boston (fighting but losing, trading/shopping their most valuable assets), Orlando (tanking), Philly (Uh yeah, they are tanking), and the Bucks who are one of the worst teams in this decade (and yes they beat the Knicks straight up as 8 point dogs this year).
I won't have a write-up but seriously, when do the Knicks plan on making a move at the eighth seed if they can't beat the Pelicans, a seed they have said was in reach ALL YEAR! They are 20-33 and they are still talking about making the playoffs!
JR - get him off the court of hit some shots. He is a MAJOR worry right now when taking points with the Knicks with this f'n mask...Start Hardaway and leave this piece of crap far off the court...
