I think he means that the Cavs would beat the Hawks with or without the refs, unlike in series past (like the Bulls this year or Heat/Pacers from a couple of years ago).

I don't know, Money. If the Dubs beat the Rockets I have a choice to make. If you recall, I initially passed up on the Warriors championship futures (which were at +105 at the time) for the Warriors to win the West futures at -195. At the the time I said that I believed that bet held a lot more value than the +105 for the title because the Dubs would likely meet the Cavs and be -200. And boy was I right. Right now the series price for the Warriors is at -1800, while their odds to win the title is around -200. So I think I made the right bet (though they still have to win). If the dubs win I can always roll over my winnings and initial investment (but have not decided).

Cavs have now had only 3 ref assignments the entire playoffs they weren't favored SU and ATS -- when they have that advantage they are near impossible to beat -- this is a team of destiny -- LeBron the King bringing the crown back to the family of fans he scorned mistakenly -- the fans await their king and get to gamble on that king as a dog as well for even more motivation -- the books have stated that the Cavs are the lowest liability from a money perspective at this point -- again how you can't see the Cavs are a lock to win it all is beyond me -- LeBron and Kyrie were born to win this ring and when Love comes back mid series pour more gold on that future
CAVS ARE GOING TO WIN IT ALL

Man -- the value slowly seeping form the Cavs series bet -- was +210 to open and now +180 -- also interesting that the early lines for all 7 games up and while game 1 is -5.5 or -6 all the rest are only -5 -- even more interesting is the most reduced Warriors ML is game 7 (which historically goes to the home side) -- books are showing a Cavs win in this series and I believe it -- the narrative is what the NBA has wanted for so long -- their good guy, their best player, brings a city devoid h champs their first trophy in 50 years on his back!!!
They also favor that the series ends in 6 games and have the Cavs favored in that game at -153 ML (again more than any other ML in the series for the Cavs)
Based on that I say Cavs win in 6 at +500 is the obvious value on the board.
Cavs series games won plus 2.5 is only -244 which is insane value IMO -- no way the league lets LeBron get swept or out in 5 -- none -- fact of the matter is the Cavs have had favorable refs 90% of their post season games thus far -- why would the league pivot from that -- they can
1) Put in Scott Foster with a 11-1 road record game 1 or 2 as needed
2) Play Jason Phillips any game with his 11 game Cavs winning streak
3) Play Joey Crawford and his 80% LeBron playoff win rate
4) Play Danny Crawford and his 90% LeBron playoff win rate
The Warriors have no refs who can do that for them and despite covering games this post season that the refs weren't on their side, have also been defeated by interesting officiating (Game 2 Mem and Game 4 Rockets)
Further Kyrie for MVP at +1600 is very very interesting -- dude has shown he can go off and that could be all the dfference
Books have also adjusted Cavs win game 1 and win the series to +350 from +550 at start
Al the signs point towards LeBron becoming the true king and wit Vegas already stating they lose money regardless who wins the series all the value is on the Dog here.

Got to agree with Bob. Warriors are overwhelming favorite here dominating regular season with curry Mr. MVP. People are forgetting that finals often come down to star power and who can take over a game and get buckets in the clutch. I love Lebron's aggressiveness this playoffs and its making everyone else better. In a close game, you simply cannot rely on jumpers with the shot clock dwindling. Lets not forget that teams that lead the league in regular season wins hardly win the title except for dynasty type teams Chi, La, Sa, Mia. I think we'll see Curry and Thompson cave under the pressure and their head injuries wont make things better.

if anyone is so sure the cavs are taking game one or even going to lose the series by merely a game - here is the golden opportunity for bragging rights after the final series are over:
cavs series +1.5 is at -138 now. that is why i dont take it. almost too inviting.

Hey Bob. What if all the favorable "Lebron" refs and the league wanting to get the Cavs to the finals is the end of the road of this saga?? It very well could be right? None of us or anyone know or can even guess if the league will continue to pull for Lebron to win it all...
What if they just wanted this matchup for the finals more than anything??
None of the other teams from the East would of been a better "story" than Lebron vs Curry.
1.A weak tested Atlanta Hawks from a weak tv market(minus Korver) 2. A lame duck coached Bulls 3. Nets(insert fart noise) 4. Celtics(let's wait 2 years) 5. Wizards(insert puke sound) 6. Raptors(drink Elsinor and eat a donut aye) 7. Bucks(let's wait till next year to see what Kidd can do w/ a healthy Jabari Parker and MCW)
Ugly options I think all would agree.
I understand your arguments for the league wanting the Lebron Cavs this far, and the ref bias is legitimate.
But you have to ask yourself where does the story go now?
I see a baby face blue eyed Stephon Curry holding his lovely young daughter at each press conference. Portraying a familly oriented african american to us. The constant shots of his dad, mom and wife at the games supporting their son...
Lebron press conferences...
His mouth sets the story up for the league. He's the "King" He puts all the credit upon himself as being the leader. He hasn't respected his coach publicly as most athletes would. A boy who choose to bipass college straight to NBA wealth. A man who left Cleveland for his own personal interests just to come back and make it all better...
What is so GOLDEN about Lebron James besides his incredible athletic gift and the fact that he's the best BASKETBALL player in the league?
You have to consider what the league "wants" here. Where will this story go?
The biggest underlying evil in this story might be that there's more $ on the cavs...at least for game 1.
BOL BOB, AND THANKS FOR YOUR REFEREE POSTS ON THIS FORUM.

anyone who did not see mj thinks lbj can be a replacement for media and fans. wrong. mj stayed with the bulls despite 5 seasons where he couldnt get to the finals - 3 of them because of the bad boys from detroit. but then..... he had season with 200 steals and 100 blocks, he was best offensive and defensive player at the same time... he was playing sick with fever and tired and broken but still winning. for the team. each time he lost interest for a game he retired and when got the game desire - came back. he gambled more than we do and was degen like us. just like us but also was a great competitor. lbj????? give me a break....

the NBA is bringing in LeBron's buddy to broadcast these games meanwhile the scorned ex-coach is on every game also -- it is almost like they envision a coronation for the greatest player of this generation LeKing

Using your theory of books making fav, the favorite to win is Warriors in 7 at +330 and Warriors to win in 5 at +350.
The books have Warriors in 5 a far stronger possibilty then any Cavs win.
The books will almost always shade the home site as the favorite, hence the Cavs ml in game 6.
And the book lowers the line to shade it to the losing team in a game.
Last season Spurs -5.5 in game `1, after winning game 1, the line swings 1.5 pts to Heat, making Spurs -4.
After the Spurs win game 3 the line again moves to the Heat making the Spurs a 5 pt dog in game 4 instead of the 4pt dog in game 3.
2008 Celtics, a 1st time team in finals -3 game 1, after a win the line swings 4.5 pts to shade the losing Lakers with all-time great Kobe with multiple titles to Celtics +1.5. And of coarse Celtics win.
This is very common to shade the line to the losing team in game 2, therefore with Warriors -6 in game 1 and -5 in game 2 the book is expecting Warriors to win game 1 .
I think your bending and twisting the info to make it say what you want it to, to fit your all-ready pre-conceived perception.

And the reason they'd make the Cavs in game 6 the fav ML is they are expecting the Cavs to be trailing in the series playing at home where you'd expect them to win a game, at home of coarse.
If the book thought the Cavs would be ahead they'd shade the line to Warriors who are the favorites in the series.

I was at first on Cavs until , i had a dream that G.S. won 4-1. The NBA was demanding Lebron not get swept and let the Cavs win 1 gm. in Cle. for the Fan Appreciation value.
Being a believer in Dreams, I naturaly bet it @ 50/150.
However, The concious Poo ,I like Clev. in 7.
I am only going to make a bet if GS wins 2 at home. Then my friends the poo makes on of his legendary , evrything but the kitchen sink, work for free for 2 yrs. bets. The last one was Seattle Seahawks superbowl Victory, that panned out great for like 4328$. the one before that, OKC choking a 2-0 lead to Lebron and miami a couple yrs. back got me for 3600.. so im ahead. Eve-rrrr-yyyyy thinngggg Jack.. cleve will 1 gm @ home for the fans and also not to destroy the Legacy they have created.(lebron)

On La Batard show yesterday (6/1) they tried to think of one example in NBA finals history where a one man team beat a superior team (with no player as good as the one man from the one man team).
....aaaand they couldn't think of an example.
