Cavs & Lebrick went all in after winning the title last year.  They have TT/JR/Shuppert on the books for $37 Million per year for the next 3 years.  They have zero cap space and will have to pay the repeat luxury taxes.   They will basically be the same team with an older LeBron who will deteriorate at anytime now.    The only option they have is to trade Love for maybe a mid 1st round pick and sign someone in free agency by freeing up $20Million in cap space.  Not sure anyone would take Love and that Salary.

Dave - people will... Decent backups hit free agency and get $10M... Teams that cannot recruit top end talent will trade for love any day... 

sign and trade involving love is the best option... 

far fetched dream scenario - Lebron recruits Paul George and George tells all teams he will only sign max contract with Cavs. No one will give market value for George as a 1 year rental. Cavs trade Love and anything else not named Kyrie or Lebron, plus picks for George....

Indiana no matter what will not trade George for Love. They can get way better deal than Love who has no value.  Worst case scenario is they keep George and let him play out the season.  If he make an all NBA team the pacers can offer him $60 Million more next season than any other team.  Don't care if he wants to win a title or not..he is not turning down $60 million guaranteed on what could be his last Major contract.  He will be 29. Or  Boston could offer Isiah Thomas and Jae Crowder for George.  IT will be a free agent after this year so it is a wash and they are not resigning IT anyhow.

It will be same in 2018. Cavs. G.state.   by the way all the post that I've just  read  have no clue about Cleveland..your kinda. Duh.

You are right Dave, as I said far fetched... But that general discussion/process is what Lebron will be trying to do for top 20-30 player... he may not succeed but that is what he will want to do

Boston will not trade Isiah and to be fair, I am not sure I would trade Isiah straight up for Paul George... Although they will be getting Fultz so maybe you let Fultz, Bradley, George give it a go... 

I think (and I bet GM thinks similarly) Boston should attempt to trade Bradley and some of their sparkling depth assets + picks for a difference maker to go along with Fultz and Thomas...

Celtics will not give IT the Max if they draft Fultz.  IT can get the Max somewhere else and will not take less from Boston. He is on a 4 year $28 million contract.  He has not gotten his big contract yet so best believe he will take no less than the max.  Fultz will be starting in year 2 so IT will be gone.
