Lin did very well during his time in New York. How is he overrated? Stats don't lie... he was only a rookie and will get better.. he seems like a very humble guy.
NYKnicks suck. they always make bad decisions.. Not matching will hurt them. Melo can score but plays no D. Amare needs the pick and roll.. They have drunk old man Kidd.. Can't believe they got Felton who sucked in Portland.
Best all time move was signing Eddy Curry (6 yr, 60 mill).. lol. good grief. Marbury is nothing to brag about either.
Stats do lie when your sample size is 17 games and you can't play defense to save your life. He had a woeful A/TO ratio and once teams a la the Heat had tape on him they shut him down completely. Rockets made a strictly marketing based decision to get money out of their Yao China connections, that's it. The Knicks for once were smart and realized that besides selling jerseys he didn't belong in MSG alongside Melo and Amare. IF HE WASN"T ASIAN THIS WOULD BE A NON-ISSUE.

What is your point? Let me remind you that Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durrant (to name a few) had worse assist to TO ratio than Lin in 2011-12. Go do your homework before you bust out some information you sheeply watched on ESPN. Sure Lin had games where he turned the ball over 7-10 times but look at his +/- on those games. Was Jeremy Lin not winning when he was turning the ball over like a madman? How can you defend Carmello Anthony when he's a fat, jaba-the-hut, lazy fuck who only cares about himself? The team went downhill once he came back to lineup.
Is the NBA not a business first? Winning second?
Unproven or not, what he did in those 25 days for the Knicks was 1000% more valuable than what Carmello and Amare will ever bring to the table for the franchise. Please don't bring up eating bad contracts when you have a history of Starbury and Eddie Curry.
Txtechpika - I used to think you were a bright handicapper in NBA and MLB. From your lame ass narrow-minded statements and comments, I was incredibly wrong. BTW, how many top point guards are shutdown defenders? Nash, Westbrook, CP3, Parker, Irving, Curry, Deron Williams....? Shit I can't think of one! But if there was one, I'm sure they couldn't play a lick on offense.
Good day.

Good day.
I watched a lot of Lin, and he looked like a product of D'Antoni's system. Combine that with the fact that his numbers and efficiency continued to drop after every 8 games or so, I don't understand the outrage among Knicks fans. Plenty of players in every sport have streaks they'll never reproduce. In the month of March he averaged about 14/6/3 with about 4 turnovers per game. That's about what he is. Above-average offensive point guard who can't play defense nor really shoot.

My bad. I looked at the total turnovers on NBA.Com. Regardless, I don't see people bitching about the amount of turnovers Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook have:

Why all the Lin-Bashing???... Nobody nor Lin himself say he's the next Jordan or Kobe... He never say he's a Top-Tiers Point Guard...Yes, he's just an average NBA player !!! What's he supposed to do ?.. tell the Houston Rockets..No, you're offering me too much??...

Vision my point is that the media has hyped Lin up to a level that he simply does not play at... no need to hate man simply voicing my opinion. That said I hope he can be a starter for the Rockets for years to come, I simply really really dislike ESPN because of the hand they had in dismantling Mike Leach and my Raiders and he is a product of their endless spin cycle and I simply had enough of the hype on him. When he can go a full season and put stellar numbers up and contribute like a Nash or a CP3 I will be the first one to come on here and say I was wrong. This has nothing to do with capping, while I admit I do have a very strong anti-ESPN bias (I'm surely not the only one), any player that plays 17 games (and Lin's back story is awesome) and gets hours upon hours of broadcasting and media hype dedicated to him should make us all take a step back and check the numbers in relation to other similar players who don't get the 24/7 attention from ESPN and others and see how valuable that player is.

Your title here is " Jeremy Lin is trash " right ??? U can blame / hate ESPN but all this kid did was playing basketball !!!
I also think u re a a smart & respectable handicapper in the NBA and MLB forum but u went out of the line this time. This kid did what he had to do when the knicks was having a rough season. He helped his team back to a respectable record and bcos he's an asian american, so he have a lot of attention from the media......and this's his fault? Come on, I'm not a Lin's fan but just be fair to this guy.
U can call him garbage if he had a bad season but bcos this rookie have a few bad gms and u re already calling him trash already? Everyone is entitle to his point of view but the last thing I would expect from a respectable capper is making a thread title like this. I guess this shows u re not much difference than the typical cover's poster.

Knicks for not playing him in the playoffs so he stayed overrated and then not matching the retarded offer the rockets gave him.
Maybe Lin will be worth the contract he got, but he basically got that for 2 weeks of good basketball when no one was waking up to play the knicks. Not to mention can he even stay healthy??
Not hating on Lin, seems like a genuinely nice and humble guy, but its still absurd.
