Does anyone bet 2nd half in here? Anyone notice just bet the team that’s down BIG at halftime and it’ll usually hit? Example: Lakers were down big against Portland and then tonight against Clippers. It’s been FREE money

yeah i do it quite often but usually only on home team as they should feel more obliged to push themselves for home fans even if they feel the game is already lost

@spicycurry
Sounds like a good idea. What do you consider a big lead? 20 points? Are you just betting the losing team to outscore the team with the big halftime lead? That's about all the Lakers did in the second half Tuesday night. Thanks.

The Pelicans -3 was an easy halftime bet last night when they were down 63-47. I knew they weren't going away. They got Jose Alvarado on that team, man.

I would say 10+ is good too. NBA is all bout ratings, they usually rig for a close game! Today wizards and nets came back after being down BIG. Honestly just bet comeback any game and usually hits , you would get a better line than FG too!

I hear ya on that and think you're right. Problem is bookmakers know it too. Being up or down 15-18ish points is virtually nothing. And it shows in live/HT lines.

I really like Grand Theft Alvarado, this little guy makes Chris Paul look like Ray Lewis, but man he plays like a possessed beast sometimes (usually when I'm on the other team).

Betting the NBA/CBB live and 2H is my bread and butter. The OP has a point, to a certain extent. But I add a lot more variables into the equation before I pull the trigger. Example: Tonight the FG spread on the Spurs is +13 on the road against LAC. Even if I can get the Spurs at +22 at half, I'm still not taking them, because that won't fit my criteria of a +EV situation. But, if I can get LAC at +2 because they mess around the first half, I'd probably jump on it for a couple of units, because that's clearly a +EV spot for me according to my metrics. It's a similar situation tonight in HOU as the Rockets are +9 at home against the Cavs. If I can get CLE at +7 at the half, I'd probably jump on it. But I'd stay far away from an offering like HOU at +24, because it's not a +EV spot. So yeah, you can definitely find value on 2H bets in the NBA and CBB, but it's not as easy as just blindly taking the team that's down big at halftime. There's plenty of value out there, just got to find the right spots and avoid the ones that might look good, but are actually -EV. This also applies to betting live and 2H totals - lots of good opportunities but you have to be disciplined and pick and choose your spots.

I see what you mean, what I’m saying is if a favorite OR small dog is down at halftime, just bet the comeback!! It’s been FREE MONEY ALL SEASON no one else noticed this?

On Jan 3, I bet on Boston vs OKC at half time when Boston down big time. Somehow OKC blow away in the second and I lost Boston whole game and half time.

@obtt
I remember that game but that one was too big of a spread 2nd half. Have to remember double digits are hard to cover in just one half… other than that one, it’s been great 2nd half comebacks?

so far based on the examples you gave atleast around 15+ points difference from the actual market. obviously should be aligned with your criteria as well. like the example you gave spurs +13 pregame then somehow at the end of the half they got into +22 in which based on that pregame line spurs was expected to get blown out right so so far +22 not value. then as you've said in order for you to take some value in this game clippers should be around +2 live but in order for the clippers to be at +2 they should be down big around 15+ points. don't you think thats a huge risk expecting clips to have like a double digit run. if the spurs got a lucky run in the 3rd quarter game pretty much over at that point.

I think you hit on a key with any betting system, placing the bet only on those that meet your criteria within whatever system you have decided upon, not placing the bet on every single occurrence. I recently developed a system betting alternative spreads on favorites and entering the data in excel in order to do various filters to see where the successes and failures happen more often. Good luck!

Live bet both sides ! I had Detroit +7.5 and Brooklyn +7.5 Brooklyn Fouls with 2 seconds left down 6 then missed lay up ! hit Knicks +7.5 and Boston +7.5 120-117
