When Kobe is pissed off, look out. Few player can win games by themselves, he is one. Ignore at your peril.

When an opponent celebrate a championship in your court, that is hard to swallow.

That's a bigger and more powerful motivation than a speech by some player due a two-game losing streak.

Lakers leave this building on a three game losing streak.

musclehead, don't be foolish.  Your "Kobe is pissed off" angle has no substance.  The guy is always pissed off after any loss yet the Lakers are only 6-9 ATS this season with Kobe following a loss.

Crummy by my standards.  Lately it seems like the only time I come through with a big win is when I lay the points with the Orlando Magic on a Sunday nationally televised game.  Those things are !!

You are probably right. I was on the Magic big and should stay with it. Lakers have been awful.

I wish I hadn't read this thread. Kobe can take over a game by himself for sure. I think no matter which way I go here I'm screwed. It just feels like one of those games.

Yesterday, when I saw that headline on ESPN.com about Kobe addressing the team at their practice in Orlando, it grabbed my attention right away, as my first thought was "Hmm, are the Lakers about to get serious?"  My instant reaction was a lot like yours, like "Uh oh......Black Mamba time!"  But after reading the posts made by ValueforRent in tribefan7's thread, and thinking it over, I'm not buying it.  The Lakers have real problems, and right now they're far from being the leading contenders to win it all this season.  An angry scolding from Kobe to his beaten puppy teammates isn't going to be nearly enough to hold off a determined Orlando team today, in my opinion.  Sure, the Lakers want this game, but the Magic want it even more.

Kobe isn't exactly the type of guy I'd be willing to go to war for.  Imagine you're someone like Jordan Farmar.  He got excessively criticized and chewed-out by Kobe for pretty much his first three seasons.  Only after things started turning around and the Lakers got a ring did Kobe start treating guys like Farmar with more respect.  I know Kobe has stated he's made a point of trying to be a better teammate recently, and to a certain extent he has, but don't think these guys haven't forgotten how poorly Kobe treated them not too long ago.  Kobe is undoubtedly a great player, but he will never, ever be beloved by his teammates the way someone like Lebron is.
