I like none of these three NBA games, but I do like the L.A. Kings to upset Edmonton again tonight. Can someone with a database tell us how Game 3 home dogs fare after losing Game 1 by more than 2 goals and then winning Game 2 in overtime? Feels like a huge positive momentum situation. Also encouraging is the fact that the Kings finished the regular season by winning 9 of their final 10 home games.

This is just me, but if I was a ring-chasing, legacy-chasing shoo-in future Hall of Famer in the twilight of my career, and my net worth was over a billion freaking dollars, I would agree to play for $1 under the condition that my team pay my $50 million salary in the form of raises for my teammates and a couple of strong free agent signings.
Maybe LeBron will do that. Yeah, right. There's never enough money for LeBron, and he doesn't care where it comes from.

The Lakers proudly hung that banner on the wall at crappyname.com Arena. Does anyone think Dr. Buss would've done that?
I say no fucking way.

If LeBron James was a more realistic father, he would strongly encourage his son to play all four years at USC and get himself a college degree. Then he can take a shot at the NBA if any team is interested.
LeBron ought to put away his wish to play in the NBA with his son. Bronny isn't nearly good enough at this point and LeBron is running out of time. And what kind of weird team dynamic would that create anyway? Any teammates of LeBron and Bronny would have to be careful at all times about what they say of either father or son. Joking around would become a risky proposition because you can't criticize the dad and you shouldn't risk teasing the son.

Or how about losing Game 1 by more than 2 goals and then winning Game 2 by one goal?

Lakers cannot advance against the top teams in the nba until they get perimeter shooting.. period. 5/27 as a team from 3pt.. usually doesn't win in nba.
same story for last 3 years w/below average shooting from 3...
Nuggz were 5/28 from 3.. how'd they win? outscored Lakers by 7 from the Foul line.. 19/22... Lakers 12/17
Gabe Vincent.. Dinwiddie.. Prince (who prob should've played more than the first 2).. D'Angelo (1gm) Russell.. Hachimura.. none were much good last night, esp in 2nd half

@bigred84
Don’t get me wrong, he is playing at a phenomenal level but he wants another championship. It doesn’t look like he is going to get it with the lakers. So genius or not he can keep playing till he is 50 but a championship he might not achieve again.

Going under the banner that said something along the lines of 37 championships as they walked off the court after going down 0-3.
Genius!!!!

Lakers have none NOTHING, and LBJ is wearing his Hollywood shades when thinking that Covid shortened season was a proper world championship.
But that shouldn't surprise many others here b/c the Dodgers have done the exact same thing. Winning the World Series during a 60 game season when many players were far from their best then bitching about the playoff format or anything else they can think of which has kept them from even BEING in the World Series.
Par for the course from overpaid players and overcapitalized franchises.

LAGameofInches, great post. I think it's hilarious that the Lakers and Dodgers both won phony plastic rings in 2020 and still pretend they're proverbially encrusted with diamonds.

I believe its fair to say covid season can have ** next to it due the bubble or no fans and shorten season, but every team had the same advantage and disadvantage, if it wasn't the Dodgers who have sucked for years and couldn't win one, or the Lebron lead Lakers after a big AD trade, no other teams would be clown on as much! Some people make it seem like the Dodger and Lakers played 60 games and other teams had to play 162
