also he is not really a star, but swaggy come back game, and when "stars" come back you usually have to fade that team on their first game back -- coupled with gasol's return this whole game spooks me -- that said the line screams take Lakers -- I would have thought Nets -5 as an opener -- also you have .5 RLM -- either way I'm tailing you or nothing

Hi i think the Jason Collins factor might energize the team for this game.
In my opinion it serves only as a distraction.
Deron told the media this and even if he isn't truly distracted, if he believes he is distracted, he is distracted. Deron is the type of player to be most affected by this (and most anything else that might go wrong with himself or the team). That is why I'd much rather see Livingston run the point if I were to back the Nets at this present time and now he's unavailable with a bruised tailbone.
Plus Jason Collins is going to see mandatory minutes given the media presence at the game (Kidd would cheat the sport if he saw no playing time) and believe me, the guy cannot give you much of anything offensively if not defensively given there is no way the guy is ready for the speed and conditioning necessary for the game given his leave of absence. Lakers get an advantage on this and for a laker backer any and all advantages with the Lakers are welcome.

Thanks man!
I would give this a 1.9 not quite a 2 but almost right there. A moderate play but a play nonetheless and those are rare for me.

Got ya! If there are any 3/3 let us know!! I'm sure everyone wants to know how confident you are so they bet accordingly. Great write up. Good luck to all of us

Love your write-up Scal. Win or lose I'm with you. Had the displeasure of watching the nets team last two times out. They are an old, old team (with lots of baggage) and the Lakers are a young, young team (with little baggage). I'll take the young carefree team...

Yes, you fade the team with the returning player as a rule but that rule is a capping standard but doesn't hold 100% of the time. This is one of those rare times. The Lakers are different. Returning bodies are a welcome sight to a team with none it seems at times.
Plus you don't really fade or play Swaggy. He's just not the type of player to pay that much attention to care but to anyone following the team, he matters somewhat but not enough for .5 pt line movement. All of this adds up to a play on the Lakers because he actually does matter .5/1pt to this team when you look at the roster.
Also, I don't think this play screams Lakers. You basically have to get a win here at this line barring a last second shot from either side and that's a lot to ask from a team like the Lakers who would have to win two in a row.
That will scare a he ll of a lot of sharps and squares alike. That is why you see no "the whole forum is on the Lakers" in this thread. The support simply isn't there here or at the window.

you're not worried that Brooklyn is favored by 3?? I was surprised when I saw the line. I thought it would at least be pk or Lakers as favorites
No I had this line anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5.
Three isn't a significant number for all intents and purposes. But adds more padding than a line of 2 which doesn't hurt to spot. 4 is a significant number though. If this was at 4 is take notice.
