How can you compare the 90s Jazz to the Spurs when the Spurs won 4 Championships with Duncan and Pop? Stupid analogy. Spurs are the better team with the better coach and home court advantage. They played in the way tougher conference and are already battle tested. Heat have cruised their way to the Finals and still aren't 100%.

Last season Spurs had the finals won in 6 games but as we know infamously threw it away. That would've meant Heat losing 2 finals and winning 1 in a 3 year span. They would've been looked at COMPLETELY differently if that happened. As "losers" or "chockers". Now that didn't happen and they are seen as winners which is appropriate. But your assertion that the league MAKES them win is so f*cking stupid. One free-throw to SA or missed 3 by Miami and Spurs would've won last season. Literally the only thing keeping me from taking Heat at -120 for the series is the HCA. Just hope Spurs edge them out in game 1 and get Heat at +170 or so after that. Best way to go IMO.

This is nothing close to the Jazz/Bulls series in the 90s. None of those went 7 games. Spurs were leading 3-2 last year. And we all know they threw away the win in G6.
I don't think the NBA cares who wins. They care that the Heat reached the Finals. But if the NBA truly cared about superstars and could determine the winner, then Lebron would've beaten the Spurs with Cleveland.
I'm more shocked that the public is backing the Spurs. I really thought Miami would be a -150 favorite or so. They were -200 vs Indiana.

the better analogy wud be simply 2 seasons ago bobmalooga...seems totally lost and forgotten in history but,heading into that series the thunder were fairly solid favourites amongst anyone willing to offer an opinion,all media types were slurping them big after they turned over the spurs and there was huge lingering doubt over the heats credentials after they imploded(and lebron in particular most importantly)the previous year in the finals and also they didnt have homecourt adv............basically every hoops"afficianado" was pushing the thunder to ruin the heats dream once more and,if memory serves correct,the odds were pretty similar to wat they have been set for this series now......of course with the benefit of hindsight we can all see how that worked out for the "favourite" facing miami.

I am not a fan of the Heat -- the Warriors are my team -- I'm just pointing out my feelings on this series -- I would be very happy to see the Spurs win this series from a fan perspective -- but from a gambling perspective I am having a very hard time seeing beyond the 3peat
